Beware the "fake" influencers

I thought this might be good to reach out to a few instagramers or youtubers to advertise. After browsing through the influencers and looking at their profiles, I was quite disappointed. It seems that there are a lot of 'fake influencers', because even though they have 15k followers or 20k, or even 70k followers... it seems that their views are in the hundreds. So what's even the point then? Maybe my criteria is too narrow (health & fitness, beauty, nutrition), or maybe there are just a lot of fake influencers on this platform wanting to game the system.
Right now, I don't even see why I should bother setting up a campaign since every single one that looked great on number of followers, on closer inspection they had very few views, likes, retweets, etc. Unless you're looking to throw in $4000+ on the 'bigger' seemingly legit influencers, I don't see this as having any potential for smaller budgets, other than throwing money.
Even the 'filters' don't work properly. If I select that I want US, UK, Canada I see find influencers in spanish, arabic, etc. I get that there are spanish, arabic, french speaking influencers in these countries, but why even have that filter if it doesn't work the way it should, meaning targeting english speaking influencers for english audiences?

Oh no!

We take fake influencer allegations very seriously; please send us a support ticket so we can take action.

Regarding your filter question; the country is based on the mailing address provided by the influencer -- we found the best way to determine true GEO was to figure out where they need product to be sent.

Again, please send a support ticket because this is not the experience we want people to have.
