Had a lot of Promise but lacks too much to make it useful
I really tried to like InVideo, I really did. Sadly, I have spent the last hour putting together a video that should have 5 - 10 minutes. I will outline basically the issues that I have in the context of my video creation.
UI issues
Each time I go into InVideo, I am hunting around for what I need. I find the site slow and clunky. At times, the icon for projects doesn't appear or it is buried somewhere.
When creating videos there is an emphasis on using their premium content which is not included in this deal. So if you use a template, they will sneak that stuff in there unless you specifically click on the option to not include that content. This is basically a way to get you to upgrade as 9 times out of 10 you will use a template and work on it online to find that half the content is blocked behind a paywall.
The other issues are just how the editor works. You have to drag your content onto the main video rather than the timeline. So if you are trying to add a scene in BEFORE the current one, you can't just drag it onto the timeline like most editors out there. Also peaking of common features, the spacebar does not start the video. Again, where you are trying to put a video together quick, you have to hunt around for the play button.
The other issue that I have found is the fact that you have to wait for the video to render or something. I have tried to download my videos from the "download" button and nothing happens. The same with the export feature. Then out of the blue I will get an email saying the the video is ready. Only through that particular link was I able to download the video.
So all and all, I would say that this particular product had potential but there is too much wrong with it to make it something that you could use on a daily basis.
