Although I bought this deal in 2021, I rarely used it before last month. Before I get into my actual review, I wanted to reply to the many complaints I read here about Invideo demoting the plan and not honoring the AppSumo plan. I'm happy to say that it looks like my AppSumo deal plan features are still active as of today 3/13/24. 30 videos a month, no watermark etc. Given the sheer number of complaints here about being demoted to the free plan, I'm wondering if AppSumo stepped in and Invideo restored it. I don't know, but in any case, I wanted to let people know that , at least for me, it seems Invideo are honoring the deal I purchased. Now for the review...
So far it's buggy. When I turned to chat support about a month ago, they were able to resolve the issue with a workaround. Today, the agent said she couldn't figure it out and she needs to pass it along and someone will get back to me.
Because I don't have access to premium media (only the free) when I check the box for the app to choose the media according to my script the results are completely off topic and useless and I have to replace every single media asset. When I uncheck that box and use a relevant template the results are somewhat better.
I bought this looking for a Lumen5 alternative. Nope. Given the uselessness of the AI choosing images based on my script, I think I'm better off just creating the video from scratch in a regular video editor. I'll give it a few more tries though and see what happens.
