Whoa - I'm about to actually praise a developer LOL
I bought this app at the same time as I bought another AppSumo deal for another app.
I gave this one a try first. But 1st some background -- if a software can be broken, I'll inadvertently break it. If there is a wrong way to do something, I'll do it.
And, if there is anything that pisses me off royally (as a previous software company owner) is developers that are so much in their bubbles that they have no concept about how the app is actually being used.
So, with this off my chest, here goes... I have bought quite a few video editing apps but lacked the skill to use them properly. I'm an entrepreneur, not a video specialist.
I created my 1st video with this app without crying or pulling out my hair. When I got stuck with some polishing kinds of details, I reached out to support and had a response almost immediately. Whoa!
I started my 2nd video today and discovered a problem. After about 12 hours of creating a video, my initial vision changed and the theme I chose was creating a problem. I'd worked through most of the issues (removing the overlay for example) but I was stuck with the squiggly lines in the theme's text box.
I reached out again... within 3 or 4 min, I had someone on chat. I created a Loom video to show that his suggestion wasn't working and then he asked for permission to access my project to see what was going on. Whoa! My mind is almost blown.
The answer wasn't what I wanted to hear but I think that my ability to break things actually is working in my favour. I can delete the squiggly lines in the theme text box by adding new text boxes and delete the theme text box.
If I make this work, I think I deserve champagne :) and so do the developers because if they've dummy-proofed the software enough for me not to cry and pull my hair out, they deserve a gazillion tacos.
Sadly for the other app, I probably won't end up using it. I thought I'd give it a shot today but I have a new favourite.
