Q: Hello, You're narrowing focus right.

What happens to the people who bought this? How would that affect us?

Hi Antoine,

I noticed that the CNAME feature has slipped back into 'Under review'.

This was/is an important feature for me, and I was looking forward to it.

I can understand if you can't/won't implement CNAME, but if you drop it, I would need the ability to at least embed Isla on my client's sites, so they have a streamlined way to log tickets and issues with me.

Can you confirm that either CNAME and/or embeds are coming to the platform?
This decides whether I can keep Isla in my stack.

Thanks!

Dear Mike,

Thank you for reaching out.

As the current focus of Isla is on internal communications, further developments are focused on users' needs when it comes to bringing transparency and speed to issues' resolution across departments inside the company.

Therefore, while CNAME and Embed features may be developed in the future, they are not in the development roadmap for the coming three months.

Sincere apologies if Isla can't fit your precise needs. Based on your use cases, I know this is an essential feature. Also, I suggest you try to use Isla without embedding, considering we have implemented guest posts.

Best regards,
Antoine

Hi Antoine,

Thanks for the reply, and for keeping the Appsumo comments open as a comms channel.

I'm not overly worried about the three month timeframe, but would like to know if they will make it into the product eventually.

You've mentioned that we get features mapped to the Island plan, which currently shows "Add Isla to your website" as "coming soon" on https://getisla.com/pricing.
Presumably this is via either CNAME or embed.
So long as either of those features really are "coming soon", then I'm happy to wait.

Can you confirm this "coming soon" feature is inbound?

Isla is so, so close to what I need as a small web design agency.
While I understand that sometimes platforms need to change direction, I've got to say I'm gutted that you guys are narrowing focus to internal focus within large teams. Isla is so close to perfect! You'd have absolutely nailed the freelancer/small agency market.

Thanks
