Q: I cannot find anywhere on your website or this deals terms about automatic website Cookie checker tool?
Do you have a tool to automatically scan our website pages to find the cookies and give us the option to divide them in to different categories? If not, is it on the road map?
If there is not a website cookie checker tool how are we suppose to add the cookies into the tool? The manual search for the cookies and adding them in to different categories could be very time consuming and not very easy.

May 14, 2024A: Hello and thank you for your question.
I'm glad to inform you that we offer a site scanner tool. You can find all the necessary information here: https://www.iubenda.com/en/help/19004-how-to-use-the-site-scanner-from-within-the-generator
That is a great news. So just to double check:
1- The site scanner tool is available for all the tiers?
2- In The page you linked above, in the second image, some of the services found by the tool, have the tag "Pro" in front of them, what is that? I believe our accounts will be based on "Ultra" plan so we will access to all the features of the site scanner tool? Is that correct?
3- Is there any limit on the number of pages that we can scan daily/monthly? or any kind of page limit on the scans?
4- in the page you linked above, what does this mean "still need to manually add the clauses related to data processing practices like newsletter sending"? How can we do this? Is there any tutorials?
5- How about the embedded widgets? Is your site scanner tool able to detect cookies related to embedded widgets on the website?
6- Is it allowed to buy more than 3 codes (for example 6 codes)?
7- The site scanner tool can be very useful in my opinion, so it would probably be worth to be mentioned in your deals features.
I just looked at the site scanner link you sent, it does not seem that the tool scans the website for cookies; it seems that it scans for technologies used to be added in the privacy and cookie policies.
I was asking about the scanner that finds the cookies and automatically adds them to our site’s cookie list so they can be blocked by the tool until consent is given. Do you have this tool? I think manually adding the website cookies to be blocked until consent is given, is hard and time-consuming. Can you please clarify this.
Yes the site scanner is available for all iubenda users. The "Pro" tag you see next to the services just means that you must have at minimum the Pro license in order to add that service within our generator and it is not available to the free privacy policy users.
There should not be a limit to how many times you use the scanner but the email you receive from us can take a little time depending on the requests at that time.
Here is a guide that may help you along to what you may want to add to your Privacy Policy: https://www.iubenda.com/en/help/6187-what-should-be-in-a-privacy-policy
You can absolutely use our help guides here: https://www.iubenda.com/help and our video guides here: https://www.iubenda.com/en/help/336-videos
As far as our site scanner, it should be able to read most services your site may be using but it is not an absolute. You can also use this guide to help you in finding what cookies your site uses here: https://www.iubenda.com/en/help/22419-how-to-identify-the-cookies-used-by-your-website
You can purchase more than three codes, but keep in mind that you can only redeem up to 3 codes total to a iubenda account, so you would need to create a second account.
Additionally, thank you for your feedback and I will be sure to send that along to my team to look into.
I hope this helps! :)
Correct, our site scanner helps to scan your site to see what services you use to then add to your Privacy Policy.
However, this guide here helps you to locate what cookies your website uses: https://www.iubenda.com/en/help/22419-how-to-identify-the-cookies-used-by-your-website
From there you can manually tag them using this guide here: https://www.iubenda.com/en/help/1229-manual-tagging-blocking-cookies
I hope this helps for sure! :)
Thank you for your comprehensive answers,
I like your product but I really wish it had the ability to automatically scan, detect, and categorize cookies. In my opinion that would be an awesome feature to have similar to some of your bigger competitors. I hope that you have this on or add this to your roadmap :) Before I stack up some codes I have a few quick questions to ask:
1- Can you confirm what data is being collected and logged from the website visitors?
I mean in addition to the consent. For example, IP addresses and ...?
2- Are all collected and logged data such as IP addresses anonymized?
3- I am wondering whether any type of personally identifiable information (PII) is collected and logged by iubenda from the visitors of our websites?
4- Can we export the visitors consent logs?
5- Can we delete the logged data of a specific user if we need to?
6- Can we have that little cookie bubble (like the one on your website) so visitors can re-visit and re-customize their consents whenever they want after they give the initial consents?
Thank you very much,
Hi,
To answer your further questions, the site scanner is meant to scan your website to find any services you use which also means it will find the cookies that you use on your site as well. That is all within this guide here: https://www.iubenda.com/en/help/22419-how-to-identify-the-cookies-used-by-your-website
1.) If you are speaking about the Consent Solution which regard to what data is being collected, you would decide what data is collected. However, normally our tool is setup to automatically collect the IP address, and a copy of the complete form plus the data filled as "proof".
2.) As far as your second question about if the data is anonymized, would you be able to elaborate this a bit more so we can better provide you with the best answer?
3.) No, iubenda does not collect any such information.
4.) Currently there is not an export logs feature for the Consent Solution or Cookie Preference Logs feature. However, you can reach out to us here: [email protected] so that we can export the data for you.
5.) No the data can't be deleted as it is required by law. The user can change their preferences and in that case our solution will record a new consent which is different from the previous one.
6.) Yes that's required by law and it's automatically enabled when you add the cookie solution script to your site. We additionally offer a class that can be added to any element of the page which has the same function.
I hope this helps :)
"2.) As far as your second question about if the data is anonymized, would you be able to elaborate this a bit more so we can better provide you with the best answer?"
So I wanted to know when you log cookie consents, what other data you record with the cookie consents, for example IP address of the visitor, unique visitor ID, time and date of the consent? And I was wondering if the IP address which is recorded together with the user cookie consent is anonymized (for example by masking the last few numbers). I have seen this in some of the other cookie consent management tools and I believe it is because the IP address is considered personal data under GDPR.
So I was wondering whether you anonymize the IP addresses in the cookie consent logs?
Hi,
Thank you for elaborating your question.
No the data you collect is not masked as per the GDPR the information collected must be clear. Here is more information about that as well in this guide: https://www.iubenda.com/en/help/5428-gdpr-guide#records-of-consent
I hope this helps :)
