Single Stack vs Full Stack for Single Site Owner
In the past, I've had a privacy policy that was a copy and paste from another site I found online - with obvious updates to fit my business. Attorneys for this sort of thing are very expensive and, as technology changes, the verbiage is nearly immediately outdated. My website doesn't get thousands of visitors a month, but I understand the importance of trying to keep things in check. Thus, I was extremely excited to see a solution like this come to the marketplace.
I started out with one code. One code is essentially enough to get your website in order. If you're a large agency doing multiple websites or catering to multiple languages, you might need more, but one does a fair job. The set-up was pretty easy. While Iubenda does a scan of your site, it's not completely accurate. Adding the items that were not included initially was not difficult. Embedding on my website was not difficult either. (I'm not a programmer, but I do have a decent knowledge of technology.)
I say I started out with one. That's because I went back and added two more codes. Unfortunately, one code does not get you consent solution. While I'm US-based and don't work in the EU, I foresee some of their requirements moving this direction. Most likely New York and California first. Then moving to other states. I want to be prepared. So, for a little extra money upfront, I'll likely have what I need going forward.
The one thing I wish was better/easier is the specialized Terms & Conditions. I have yet to figure out how to actually make it more customizable for my business.
Long story short, if you don't want to fork over money to an attorney nor copy from another website, I would recommend this software and, even if you're in the US, I would do the full three stack.
