Hi, I'm Hai — the developer behind Journal it!

I started journaling in 2014. In 2015, I taught myself programming and looked at the journaling apps available. They were boring — they just copied paper journals, nothing innovative, not really taking advantage of what smartphones can do. So I decided to build my own.

Then I discovered the bullet journal method: journaling, planning, and note-taking in one place. Why keep them separate? Over time I kept pulling in ideas from other methods — GTD, PARA, second brain, outlining — and Journal it! grew into what it is today: one integrated system to journal, plan, and organize your life.

I'm excited to be on AppSumo because it puts Journal it! in front of exactly the right people — productivity enthusiasts who are serious about finding better tools and aren't afraid to invest in them.
