This is HUGE!

Everything related to personal development, self-organization, and structure has fascinated me for a long time. When I discovered Journal It! on AppSumo, I immediately took the plunge – honestly with rather moderate expectations. The first impression was "nice," but initially felt a bit dry to me, and I wasn’t sure if it would really become a tool that convinces me in the long run.

Fortunately, I chose a simple entry point: I transferred only a single regularly recurring task from my previous to-do tool to Journal It!. That was exactly the right step. From there, everything continued quite organically. Bit by bit, I tried out more features – and by now, after I have been working very intensively with the app for several days, I finally understand the basic concepts and I can see all the possibilites the app offers.

What can I say: I am not only pleasantly surprised, I am thrilled every time I discover what is possible with Journal It!. The system is extremely well thought out. Everything meshes together, everything is interconnected. Yes, this makes the initial entry somewhat complex – but once you understand the basic principles, everything makes absolute sense.

A concrete example from everyday life: While tidying up, I had some old flyers in my hand and actually wanted to throw them away, but first wanted to document them in a way I would find the information again if needed. So I created a suitable collection note in Journal It!, added photos, added text – all completely effortless, fast, and logical. It is exactly in such moments that you realize how versatile this tool really is.

By now, I am so convinced that I am seriously considering buying additional licenses, even though I don’t currently need them – simply as a reserve and to support the developer. I think that says a lot.

However, there is currently one thing I would like to be different: pinch-to-zoom doesn’t work either in the web version or in the Android app. When working on my laptop or phone, I often use pinch-to-zoom since my eyesight isn’t as good as it used to be. Not having pinch-to-zoom in Journal It! is somewhat of a downside for me. Maybe the developer could add it; it shouldn’t be much of a challenge to implement. That’s really the only criticism I can think of for now.

My conclusion: A clear top recommendation. Definitely try it out – and then really take a few days to work with Journal It! and understand the concept. After that, you quickly realize how powerful and flexible this tool actually is.

Thanks so much for this review! Really means a lot.

Love the approach of starting with just one task and building from there.

About pinch-to-zoom: this is the first time I got this request, so I'd love to understand the use case better. Is there an app you're currently using where pinch-to-zoom works the way you'd want? I'd like to try it out and see how they handle it.

And definitely grab those extra licenses if you're considering it. The multi-license offer on AppSumo is unlikely to be available elsewhere, so it's a good time.

Thanks again for the support :)
