It has promise, but also has big issues

So it took a couple of attempts of really playing with and refining the "workflow" to get it where we needed it. It is kind of disappointing that it takes away from the workflow credits to learn the ropes of the tool. Regardless, after doing the first "workflow", I felt more prepared for my second and produced a more helpful document, e.g. starting point, as a result. FWIW, I personally found the AI Writer better than the AI Rewriter, which was my first attempt.

It produced a fairly good document for me to start working with. I found a lot of the default prompts in the AI Editor (these show when you highlight text) to be just "okay" with the result they provided. For instance, "Shorten" or some of the others literally just produced the exact same content over and over again. Giving my own directions, e.g. detailed prompts, typically produced better results.

So in the end, I spent 3 hours using the AI editor and naturally credits revising the document on their website. I took some sections from the first workflow document and went back and forth between the two until I finished and was really pleased with the final result.

The next morning I went to get my document from Junia.ai for publishing, only to find my 3 hours of edits and research completely gone. I spoke with Junia support who said there is no way to retrieve it and it must have been a connectivity issue, but that literally makes no sense as I was actively working with the built in AI Editor, which naturally has to make and fetch requests to revise the document the entire time. It also said "Saved" the entire time after each edit and Undo/Redo worked just fine during all the editing.

So if you decide to use Junia, I would highly, highly recommend you do not put faith into it saving your edits. Copy, download, or do whatever so that your hard work isn't lost.

On a positive note, Junia's support has been very responsive and they did reimburse us for the Word credits we lost and more. Unfortunately, we'd prefer the final revised document more. Regardless, this was a nice gesture.

Another issue we can't seem to get past with Junia is that the URL fetcher is often blocked by websites. Our own company firewalls blocked crawling, which makes adding brand voice and Infobase articles more difficult. We looked for guidance as to IP addresses or suggestions so that we could find out what we could whitelist to ensure they can reach our content, but nothing helpful was provided.

We went with Tier 4 on this deal and really hoped it would meet the hype and reviews, but like so many Appsumo deals, they may be good for a one-man shop or something tiny, but aren't ready for any larger business usage.

Hi,

Thank you for your detailed review and I appreciate your feedback and your patience with the tool.

It’s possible that having the document open in multiple tabs might have caused an accidental save in one of the raw(unedited) documents, leading to the loss of your work. I know how frustrating this can be, and we're taking steps to make this less error-prone for sure.
Regarding the URL fetcher, we have an improvement coming where we will implement a static IP address and improve our crawling of web pages to be more accessible and potentially without the need for whitelisting.

Thanks again for giving Junia a try!
