Katteb is functional and works ok.( 3 tacos) It is NOT in my opinion any better, nor does it stand out from any other AI tools in a family of similar tools here at APPSUMO. The creators decided to pull out a portion of the product and use it as an upsell in the form of another App. From what I can tell they pretty much just quit responding to questions in early Dec. 2024. (Loss of a taco)Both of these are a huge red flag for this Old Schooler. Sometimes in life there are signs that you are about to make a bad decision. My money means a lot to me and investing in tools and people who respect that demands a little more time and effort, even if it is the "The Holidays."

Edited Dec 31, 2025Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed and honest review. We understand where you’re coming from, especially when you’ve been investing in software long before AI tools became common.
You’re right on two important points. First, the older version of Katteb did not stand out enough compared to similar tools at the time. Second, our communication dropped off in late 2024, and that understandably raised red flags. That was a failure on our side, regardless of timing or holidays.
Regarding the upsell concern, we hear you. Splitting features without clearly communicating the long-term product direction created confusion and frustration, and that feedback directly shaped our next steps.
Because of these exact issues, we made a hard decision instead of continuing incremental updates. Katteb is relaunching on January 1, 2026, rebuilt entirely from the ground up. This is not a rebrand or a feature shuffle. It is a new platform focused on depth, reliability, and respect for long-term users, including:
An AI SEO Assistant that goes beyond generic writing
AI SEO Ready articles built for real optimization, not just text generation
White label features for agencies and professionals
All AppSumo lifetime licenses will be honored in the new system.
You’re absolutely right that money represents trust. We don’t expect trust to be given lightly or restored instantly. All we can do is acknowledge where we fell short and prove, through the relaunch, that the time and effort you expect are finally being delivered.
We appreciate the candid feedback. It genuinely helped shape the direction we are taking.
