Kerplunk Falls Short on Essential Features and Usability
I have had a very frustrating experience with the product called Kerplunk which is not only poorly designed but difficult to use and lacks important features. This can be broken down as follows.
1. Complex User Interface: The interface does not cater for the users’ needs at all. It’s confusing, and it makes simple tasks feel laborious. I am an agency owner, what i need is a tool that makes my workflow more efficient, not this one that adds unnecessary complexity to it.
2. No CNAME Records: There is no option of implementing CNAME records which are necessary for building brand image and professional communication. This basic feature seems missing in this application compared to its competitors.
3. Spammy Links: Since there is no CNAME, we often send links to candidates who may consider them spam messages hence less effective communication with our audience. This disadvantage of the system greatly affects business operations since it hampers us from talking to potential candidates as well as possible clients.
3. Flaky Features: On the platform there are features promised such as resume uploader or even co-pilot meeting tool while they are marked “coming soon”, yet the buttons are already visible. This is misleading and creates unnecessary confusion. If a feature isn’t live, don’t display it!
4. Incomplete Feature Set: Kerplunk has a number of missing features, which are vital for agencies. The absence of white-label options and CNAME support is inexcusable. Competing tools offer a more complete range of features, and so Kerplunk needs to step up its game if it wishes to continue being relevant.
5. Lack of Research and Innovation: It seems as though Kerplunk hasn’t been looking at what their competitors are offering. There is no room for many features that are common place elsewhere, putting users at a great disadvantage.
Please developers take this seriously and improve the tool. I will be happy to change my review once major updates have been made. Until then, please add these urgently needed features. Good luck!

Aug 13, 2024Hey Dustin! Really appreciate you taking the time to write out this thoughtful feedback. This review really challenges a lot of the positive feedback we've already received from the product. I hope the following information might help set expectations for future buyers when it comes to considering a purchase.
Additionally, Do you mind telling me the name of your organization on the platform? I don't see that you actually created any account?
1. This is a matter of opinion but our UI was developed by an incredibly accomplished, award-winning designer.
2. We've said many times this was not an available feature. Futhermore, it was never marketed as having this feature available.
3. Our development team is pushing updates almost daily and the features you see marked as Coming Soon are truly coming very, very soon. (Except CNAME, see #2!)
4. This is the same critique as seen in #2 and, as mentioned, we do not do CNAME updates. However, hiring organizations can have their own branded JD pages.
5. We respectfully disagree, but appreciate the feedback!
Seems like the major frustration here is based around CNAME. We don't support that functionality. Nor have we ever said we support that functionality.
As mentioned, I'm at jonathan@kerplunk.com and would be more than happy to chat through any issues that arise. No software is perfect, but we're trying our best to make this an incredibly useful platform (as we already know it is, based on customer feedback).
We have a library of resources that might also help you on our youtube channel (link below). You can email me personally. You can message our entire company through the Intercom Chatbot on the site, and we also have a resource library that we're building out. Many ways to be successful on Kerplunk!
