Yes it does. With Merch Amazon gives you less to work with so it's actually more restrictive, I believe you have (Title, 2x features & Description).

For "most" private label (non-merch) sellers, they have Title, 5x or more features, Description, Backend Keywords.

So you'll just ignore the added functionality Keywords offers. I hope that helps!
