A Love it / Hate it Relationship

Okay, here is my feelings on the matter and hope that it doesn’t fall on deaf ears.

1. My instant reaction was to buy it as I’m a fan of what Appsumo is doing and the software they are developing. True, the overboard branding is NOT good, but if they make it low key, like footer then that’s livable. That box on the right screams click me, I’m sure you know that and our paid traffic will flow away from what we are trying to do and that’s build our own list, not appsumos.

2. Traffic will most definitely flow out of our page, and if not, our clients will definitely be pissed as many of our clients won’t even let “us” advertise on their websites or offers, let alone a 3rd party they don’t know or trust. (I.e., not saying you’re not trustworthy appsumo, but our clients don’t know many of leverage appsumo.) This could be potentially dangerous to use for our businesses as let’s say a new awesome white label appsumo deal comes out and we leverage it and resell services based on this, but since we used this Viral software our clients know about appsumo now, and can come back on us and discontinue service with us, this eliminating the need to work with us again, and we also get stuck with a software we can’t use. Enough of this and you lose customers in the long run which will effect appsumo.

3. I purchased this because I feel that Appsumo will hear us as they have other deals and we should give them a chance to make this deal better: after all, the only real benefit from this version and free version is just a logo and FB pixel. The value prop is off... I’m going to give it 3 tacos 🌮 even though it feels like 2 right now.

The software is good, stable, but there is much to be improved upon.

4. Being able to update Terms / Condition is HUGE. So we must have this in near future.

5. Being able to update emails is HUGE, not all brands have the same voice. Stuff like “da” in a email 📧 isn’t good for healthcare and a client will ask us to change them and we won’t be able to, thus failed attempt with client, we look bad, you look bad, enough said.

6. I would say this can still be useful for your own website campaigns but at this time, I wouldn’t advertising it or offer it as a service to your clients as they could just do it themselves and not have to hire you for the future, it will make you look bad in front of your client, your client will know you use appsumo and Ltd software which will effect your business relationships, and you will lose your paid & Viral traffic. The real winner will be Appsumo and not you. Not to mention we paid for this, so why not include a remove branding button for pro users, that make the most sense ever, I mean really think about this one guys... Better ways to incentivize people to share your platform, and affiliate programs are great for that, hec I wouldn’t mind sharing it on my own campaigns either, but client campaigns are a HARD No.

Im sure I left things out, nothing that hasn’t been said already.
