Q: Monitor

Please can you kindly explain what a monitor is? And also if I add a URL for my website will that monitor the entire website?

A: Hi Sumorl,

A monitor is simply a check that KloudFox runs on your website or service to ensure it’s available and working as expected. For example, you can monitor whether a webpage is loading, whether a keyword is present, or if your server is responding correctly.

If you add a URL for your website, the monitor will specifically check that page/URL you entered. It won’t automatically scan your entire website — just the URL you configure. If you’d like to monitor multiple pages of your site, you can add a monitor for each page.

Thank you for the reply. Now on cloudflare I have it set up so that some countries are blocked to help avoid spam. So all this impacts any of the way that I'm monitoring works

No, Cloudflare’s country blocking won’t normally affect your monitoring. However, if you notice KloudFox showing false downtime alerts, it’s likely because our monitoring systems are being blocked.

In that case, please whitelist our system IP addresses inside your Cloudflare settings. That will ensure monitoring works smoothly without interruption.
