What are past projects, failures, or successes you’ve had in your career?
Our past project was in 2019 called VideoBox a software for creating videos designed to produce engagement-driven social content using a cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence that uses proprietary text-to-video technology to transform text content like blog posts into vibrant and engaging videos.
But we could not get it to completion because it required high funding than we imagined, hence we kept pushing down to 2020 after covid-19 lockdown we found the need to create an asynchronous form of communication that involves the exchange of short videos between Colleagues, clients, customers and families and that is how the idea of building Konvey was birthed.
In January 2021, we started the documentation for Konvey, made the UI designs and finally started Konvey development mid 2021 and we finished our development in March 2022 and started our beta testing.
After getting beta testers reactions, comments and feedbacks which resulted to lots of improvement on user-friendliness and features, we decided we test the market through ads.
Then we ran couple of ads intermittently from February to March 2023 and generated over $24,000 in gross profit and over $15,000 in net profit with 260 plus customers. Then we wanted more promotions to reach more customers (users) to promote a viral visibility and usage of our product.
Then we reached out to a friend for AppSumo partnership deal to help us bring our software to maximum use through Sumo-lings and having being a part of that community since 2018, we were convinced how AppSumo could help us realize our dream.
