Q: Plan mapping

Regarding your plan mapping, is this 1:1 plan mapping with your subscription offerings?

A big concern with early stage AI tool LTDs is when features are mapped to a plan, but the limits are not.

A lot of us buy based on the potential usefulness of the tool once it matures. As well as the ability to provide feedback so that useful features can be baked into the foundation of the tool AND we’ll be able to use those features too :)

If the limits are not mapped to the plans, it’s basically guaranteed to degrade over time as the regular plan limits adjust to be useful to regular subscribers and the associated costs decrease.

E.g. T4 seems mostly 1:1, but exports are 80 on your Ultimate subscription and 40 on the T4 LTD plan mapped to that plan.

Interested in knowing your thoughts on this, thanks!

A: Hi Misty!

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and ask these important questions!

Regarding the mapping of our AppSumo plans to our subscription offerings, when we initially collaborated with AppSumo, their advice was to aim for a 1:1 alignment as much as possible. I’d say we’re about 95% there, so very close to identical. The main differences lie in a few areas, like export limits, which I’ll explain further below.

Your feedback, as well as feedback from others, has been absolutely invaluable. From feature requests and enhancements to plan suggestions and bug reports, it’s been shaping how we’re improving the platform as a whole. We are actively working on these updates, and I’m excited to share that we’ve already made significant progress. A decent batch of updates is being pushed to production today, and over the next week, you’ll see even more changes rolled out.

Now, let’s talk about limits:
We understand the concern about plan limits potentially degrading over time, especially with LTDs (lifetime deals) as platforms mature and subscription plans evolve. While there are some slight differences between our regular plans and the AppSumo LTDs (like the export limit you pointed out), our aim is to provide as much parity as possible so that AppSumo users can fully experience the platform’s value as it grows.

For instance, we’re in the process of improving export limits significantly across the board, including for the LTD plans. AI credits are a bit trickier to expand right now because of the substantial costs tied to video and image generation, but we’re working hard to find ways to optimize this while keeping costs manageable.

Ultimately, we’re deeply committed to ensuring that the AppSumo community gets the most out of their investment—not just in the tool’s current features but in its long-term potential. If we can do right by the AppSumo community, it will be better for us as well. You are an incredible group, and we’re hopeful that by exceeding your expectations, you’ll help amplify Kosmic’s story to a wider audience. The better we do by you, the better it does for us.

If you have any other questions or specific suggestions, please feel free to share! We’re always open to feedback and committed to making Kosmic better for everyone.

Thank you again for your support and trust in us as we grow.

Thank you for your well thought out response, your replies and attitude are instilling confidence :)

There are so many ways for a LTD to go sideways through technicalities (inserting new plans or relaunching a v2 as a ‘new’ product excluding LTD backers and other wizardry) that it mostly comes down to the founders attitude and integrity.

Very intrigued with how your product will shape up :)

Thank you for the kind words! Hearing that our responses are giving you confidence means the world to me. I’ve spent over a year and a half building Kosmic, invested a lot into it, and it’s my baby.

Our team has worked so hard, and they’ve put their faith in me. I don’t want to let them down, so I’m doing everything I can to let Kosmic reach it's potential.

I’m excited to have you on the journey
