Hey, awesome Sumo-ling community!
This is Peder Enhorning with KPI Karta!
How we’re different
KPI Karta is a start-up and our AI based technology received a patent on November 19, 2024. The service helps clients better identify actionable KPIs and then tracks them in colour-coded hierarchical maps to show progress. When I tell friends that I am building a tool to help clients better identify and track KPIs, they think it sounds boring! But every company uses KPIs and what we are offering is completely unique. I think we have something that can really shake up the industry.
Here’s what KPI Karta does and why it’s different:
- Guide users to identify activities and actions, and related KPIs, necessary to accomplish corporate goals. No other tool does that.
- Build visual maps that align business goals with the activities needed to achieve them. They can see that the work they are doing is relevant and important. Even if you have existing KPIs you can map them with our tool for better clarity. Again, not something other tools do.
- Track the created KPIs and their targets against actuals so progress can be seen. There are lots of dashboarding tools to report on KPIs, although our visualization is very different and very cool!
In a formula 1 race, over 1000 data points (telemetry units) are collected every second, but none of them are for “are we winning the race”. Similarly, we help you track the activities that will lead to winning the race (or your growth objectives).
History and background
KPI Karta is a spin-off from my previous data analytics company Unilytics, which was acquired in 2021. The subscription service embodies the very successful consulting methodology used for the past 12 years. It has won a lot of praise from customers and industry leaders. “Brilliant! This is exactly what is needed. Everyone should be using KPI Karta!” - Jim Sterne, Co-founder and Chairman, Digital Analytics Association. He’s now one of our advisors.
Many dashboarding tools exist that report on company metrics and KPIs. But they only report on how we are performing but not why. The value proposition for KPI Karta is quite different. Our service help clients figure out what their KPIs should be, and we inform about the why. The maps that are created shows how there is a direct link between our daily activities and the goals of the organization. The visual maps it builds show management and staff who is responsible for various tasks, and everyone can see how well they are performing and identify what things need improving.
Karta means Map in Swedish. I'm originally from Sweden, and my last name, Enhorning, means unicorn. People tell me I'm building the next unicorn company, but I tell them I'm already there!
A little bit about what you can expect from the deal:
The life-time license will give you full access to Creator to build, edit and update Kartas, which will describe your marketing and sales plans. (You can use if for any business discipline, not just marketing and sales).

FAQ
Q1 What makes KPI Karta different from competitors?
A1 The main thing is that KPI Karta will guide you to identify activities and actions, and related KPIs, necessary to accomplish corporate goals. That’s not what other systems do. And we build visual maps that align business goals with the activities needed to achieve them. Again, not something other tools do.
Q2 What if I already have KPIs?
A2 That’s common and not a problem. Mapping them in KPI Karta makes it easier to comprehend and to communicate the relationship between KPIs and strategic goals.
Q3 How does this work if we currently use OKRs?
A3 KPI Karta is a great extension to OKRs. That’s because both systems use the same approach of starting at the Goal and then Critical Success Factors, but KPI Karta continues to drill down into more detail. That way KPIs (and their targets) can be used in the OKR model.
Q4 Are there any video tutorials or user guides available?
A4 Yes, several are available under the resources tab (link) on the home page.
Q5 How do I bring in data from outside sources?
A5 This can be done through CSV import. Many customers simply entering in values manually.
Q6 What benefits do businesses realize when using KPI Karta?
A6 It makes them more efficient, better able to succeed which creates greater job satisfaction.
