storage as I am someone who's really considered privacy and encryption. I am willing to full stack this immediately!
Just had a couple of concerns/questions that I hope you answer ((and REALLY answer, not copy&paste your regular answer like on other questions... please)).
1) When is the estimated time for file previews as this is super important?
2) When is the estimated time for improving the speed of the upload/download?
3) About file previews, will we be able to preview PDFs, Excel Sheets, Word Documents, Powerpoint Slides, and Pictures? or the previews will only be for the Pictures part?
4) Services like IceDrive and pCloud offers a dedicated folder that's fully encrypted, but the rest of your files have the regular kind of encryption, Does Internxt have the same thing as these services? or are all my files -no matter what folder they're in- are fully encrypted using End-to-End Encryption?
5) Does your desktop app act as a mounted drive on my computer? so I can use it like a physical external hard drive?
6) Can I open and edit my files (stored in Internxt) from my computer directly? So if I had a PSD uploaded to my Internxt I can open it in Photoshop, make changes, save them again, and that would update the file in Internxt as well?
7) If we want to restore our password our account will get deactivated, does that mean we will lose all our files and photos if we ever requested a password restoration?
8) Any plans for dark-mode? This whiteness is killing me... I am a developer so it's freaking hard to look at something this white and most sumolings would agree on this one as well...
9) Any plans on bringing features for editing on the go like Google Docs? So I can edit a document on the cloud without needing any extra program?
10) I AM ALL IN with the blockchain technology and the decentralization thing, but, I am a bit worried, I understood that there are 6 backups of the same file spread across multiple nodes, what happens if all of them failed or they just wanted to quit your program for hosting, what happens to me and to my files then? How can I trust that my files won't ever be lost in this network of nodes and decentralization?
11) What's the file size limit currently and when that will become "limitless"?
12) Is there's a monthly cap for uploading/downloading?
13) What are our options to upgrade if we exceeded the limit?
14) Any plans to provide a file versioning feature and when?
15) Do you confirm that Sumolings will get all future updates without any exceptions?
16) If Internxt Drive got an exit from another company, will the new company still respect the lifetime deal users and still keep us using the platform with our plans? As I am seeing how Internxt might be a successful startup that would end with an exit but I know that Investors like recurring customers more than lifetime customers, can you confirm?
Hi! Let's try to solve all your questions
1-In a few weeks you will be able to have a preview of your files. You already can have a preview in Photos (you just have to change to Photos in the main menu)
2-We are already working on it. This would be a progressive change and we will try to improve this more and more through time.
3-It is already available in Internxt Photos and in a few weeks it would be available for files as well.
4-ALL FILES uploaded to Internxt cloud are client-side encrypted using end-to-end encryption. We make no distinction, your privacy and security are the most important things for us.
5- Yes! It will be like a folder on your computer. Think of it as a private alternative to DropBox. We are easy to use but much more secure!
6-First you have to download the document you want to edit, edit it and then upload it again. Please, consider all files are encrypted so if you modify a file the encryption changes.
7- You have an option that allows you to restore your password and you won't lose your data.
8-I understand you hahaha! We are working on it since some of you are requesting it and we want you to be comfortable while using Internxt.
9-We want to implement this but we also want to keep your documents as private and secure as possible using end-to-end encryption! We are working on a way to achieve both!
10-We have 10 backups! And you can check this article about how secure is to store your data in a blockchain-based cloud. There is also more info about it on our web page! Trust me, your files won't be lost.
11-Max file size is 500 MB on Web and Mobile. There's no limit on Desktop. Very soon Web and Mobile will become limitless as well so stay tuned!
