I paid for Krisp Noise Cancellation - now I have a calendar app?
I’ve been a long-time user of Krisp and was very happy with the software. It worked exactly as advertised, and I had no hesitation recommending it.
However, Krisp has now added a calendar feature without providing an option to remove it. For me, this is unnecessary bloatware. It loads at startup and requires me to manually close it every time Windows starts—an unnecessary frustration.
I did not pay for this extra feature. I purchased Krisp for its noise cancellation, nothing more. Why am I now forced to deal with an intrusive addition that I don’t want or need?
If this issue is addressed and an option is provided to disable or remove the calendar app, I’ll gladly restore my 5-star rating. Until then, this is a serious disappointment and makes me feel like I’ve been misled.
Krisp seems to not understand the essence of lifetime deals
I purchased Krisp in 2019 as a Lifetime Deal and was genuinely thrilled at the time. The ability to eliminate background noise in real-time enhanced my experience during conferences and calls. However, I am now deeply disappointed that my acquired Pro Plan has been downgraded to the basic features of the free plan. This is not how one should treat Lifetime Deal customers!
The essence of a Lifetime Deal is to support a company in its early stages, with the expectation of benefiting from updates and innovations over time.
Krisp's explanation, given in response to similar reviews, stating that the new features were not available at the time of purchase, is simply inadequate. This is precisely the nature of such a deal: one invests in the anticipation that the company will grow and the software will evolve. When such development is not acknowledged, it inevitably leads to feelings of betrayal on the part of the buyer. If this risk in supporting a nascent company is to be disregarded, then it renders the endeavor entirely pointless!
I sincerely hope that Krisp takes this feedback to heart and devises a fair solution for its early supporters. Such behavior not only damages the company’s reputation, as dissatisfied customers are likely to voice their grievances, but it also undermines trust in AppSumo Lifetime Deals.

Hey there, Thanks a lot for the feedback, rest assured it'll be passed to our Product team.
Just to be crystal clear - the lifetime deal you purchased covers Noise Cancellation, which remains fully available to you. The AI Meeting Assistant is a completely separate product that wasn't part of the original offering. We're committed to honoring the original deal and ensuring you continue to get the Noise Cancellation features you invested in.
Krisp Shocks AppSumo Lifetime Users by Downgrading from Pro Plan to Free!
Shocking news: Krisp thanks appsumo users with a questionable downgrade and offers no comprehensible explanation or solution. What does this mean for the future of krisp and what will the sumolings and appsumo do about it? It remains exciting to see what the future will bring.

Hello,
I wanted to clarify the AppSumo lifetime deal and address your concerns. When the original deal was launched, Krisp's Pro tier focused specifically on Noise Cancellation, which is the feature you'll continue to have unlimited access to. While our product has significantly expanded since then, the AppSumo agreement was structured to preserve the original scope of the Pro tier. I understand this might not be the resolution you were hoping for. However, we remain committed to honoring the core promise of the original deal by maintaining your unlimited Noise Cancellation access.
Disappointed that Krisp has downgraded Appsumer users
My comment is the same as previous users. It's disappointing that the lifetime access has been downgraded.
I understand Krisp's response and don't need them to reiterate the same response again. Rather, I would like a response from someone regarding the principles of how users purchasing lifetime access to software on AppSumo works.
I think @bibelot explains the concern well, normally when we sign up to AppSumo software, part of the gamble of buying an early product is that we assume it's going to get better over time. If it was going to stay static, it would completely change the calculation as to whether to bother buying it or not. As such, it's reasonable for users to expect software to add new features - that's the whole point. We're putting in money into software that we hope and expect to improve over time, and for that to be part of the lifetime benefit of early signup. It's disappointing that Krisp are not adhering to this principle, which is quite fundamental to how AppSumo works.
To be clear - and to make sure that this is a fair review of Krisp - the product is really great, albeit lacking some features those are common nowadays.

Hey there,
While our Noise Cancellation feature (which you purchased) remains fully available, we recognize the broader concern about feature growth and customer trust. We're actively working on ways to better support our early adopters and appreciate candid feedback like yours.
Thanks for taking the time to share your perspective.
I've enjoyed Krisp for quite some time; it's been one of the better lifetime deals I've received on AppSumo. That's why I'm sad to write this. Despite being a good app with decent support, they've refused to honor the fact that we purchased lifetime access to the Pro tier. Their support says what we purchased was an "AppSumo Pro Plan" which is still in place. But that's not what we purchased. As with any lifetime deal on AppSumo, the deal follows a specific tier on a SAAS website--including ALL updates to that plan. In this case, we should still have access to the current Krisp Pro plan, including all added AI features. To not include this means all we purchased was the way the plan looked at a specific moment in time--and that wasn't the deal. I'm disappointed they aren't honoring this deal for all of us who invested in the app when it was still an unknown. They're offering to upgrade us at a steep monthly discount, but again, that wasn't the deal. Disappointed.

Good day,
I appreciate you sharing your thoughts and completely understand your disappointment.
To clarify, when the AppSumo deal was offered, Krisp’s Pro plan only included Noise Cancellation, and we have fully honored that by ensuring lifetime access to unlimited Noise Cancellation. The "AppSumo Pro Plan" was not structured to include future additions like the AI Meeting Assistant, which is a separate product.
I understand that this isn’t the outcome you were hoping for, and I truly appreciate your support from the early days. While we’ve offered a discounted upgrade path, I know that doesn’t change your expectations from the original deal. Your feedback is valuable, and I’ll be sure to pass it along to the team.
