Hero or Zero?

I've been looking for another keyword research tool to add into my rotation so was happy to see KWHero on AppSumo. It reminds me of another keyword tool called KWFinder, which is great as well, but that subscription can get costly.

KWHero gives you keyword data on search volume, cost per click, difficulty score, and provides SERP analysis and keyword clusters. The platform really needs a saved keyword search history, which they say will be released soon. I’m excited about because it will make tracking my research a whole lot easier. Also, I am looking forward to KWHero adding more keywords for the more local searches.

The UI looks great in dark mode, but I wish users could edit the Content Plans and rename/move items around.

The AI writer has been solid, and produced articles that are already ranking very well for me. Of course a lot depends on site authority, backlinks, etc... but let's see how long they stick. So far so good.

KWHero's optimization feature is similar to others like SurferSEO and NeuronWriter. Scoring is slightly different, but easy to read and understand.

I recommend that users add BYOK otherwise your credits will go very fast. Keep in mind this is not your standard BYOK and adding this will x10 your current credits.

The BYOK/credits conversation in the Q&A here on AppSumo actually raised a possible red flag with some potential users on how the founder was responding. I see a bunch of people not wanting to buy KWHero because he sort of replied with "don't buy then" which is not always a great strategy.

Of course I understand his viewpoint as well. KWHero is his baby, and a really good tool. Some in the LTD community can ask for too much, but if KWHero is to succeed (especially in the US) the founder and team will need to work on this. Customer is always right... and all that jazz... even though often they are not.

Right before I wrote this review KWHero's website was down for hours. I understand this happens, but still curious why it happened? Hopefully it will not happen too often in the future.

I've enjoyed using KWHero and think its great, and want to see it succeed since it's now part of my workflow. Started at Tier 1 then went to Tier 3, may even full stack.

In a space filled with AI writers that are becoming obsolete by the minute with new tech always coming out I do worry, but the keyword research and outline feature makes it less risker for me (fingers crossed).

Hopefully the KWHero team can continue to scale this puppy and it becomes a bigger player on the SEO / AI stage. As of right now, I am using KWHero daily to get that ROI.

I actually wrote this review in KWHero... just kidding. If i did it would probably read much better and somehow rank.

Here's a video walk-through I made about KWHero if anyone is interested: https://youtu.be/fe6PTiS7yBs?si=hQM5aXAoUgGQZ4uw

Thanks Joe, appreciate the review. As for the downtime, our server started refusing connections in the middle of the night (for me) and needed a restart. Still looking into it.
