Q: countdown coming soon

Hi,
you on a countdown now and so it's time to consider upgrading to Tier 5.
Have an impression of the product, the explanations here have always been very open and transparent, what's missing is a bit of a glimpse into the future: there are some points announced on the website, but it's just “coming soon” - do you have a bit more of a timeline, whether that means still in the first half of 2025 or more likely 2026?
It's about
- interactive whiteboards
- Live annotations
- participants reactions
And what happens after the countdown? There is no changelog or newsletter on the website.

A: Hey Klest,

Appreciate you and your team considering at Tier 5 upgrade before the countdown expires. While we'd love to support your team on our platforms, please let us get back to you on our Data Processing Addendum and future GDPR status (before our campaign ends) so you can make a more informed decision on whether we'd be a suitable platform for your team. We understand data protection and privacy are very important for companies in the EU and we want to make sure we can adequately support these increased requirements so customers that switch to our platforms can be confident they're switching for the longer term :)

We recognise that our roadmap as part of our communications needs more clarity going forward. While we have an internal roadmap, we're still working out the best ways to present a public roadmap.

In the meantime, these are what we are planning to deliver in the short term.

Before countdown ends
1. Allowing 3rd party drives as default recording location. As an example users can select Google Drive to be where their recordings are automatically saved to.
2. Clarify our approach to GDPR/data compliance.
3. Synced YouTube video sharing in KYZON Space meetings.
4. Clarify whether we would allow users to only record audio during meetings.

Within the next month
1. Waiting rooms.
2. Improved meeting notes and simpler exporting process.
3. General optimisations and meeting quality improvements.

For interactive whiteboards and live annotations, we'd rather be conservative and say 2026 but depending on circumstances they may end up being available earlier. Participants reactions will more likely than not, be available in the second half of 2025.

As for what happens after the countdown? Not to be boring, but we anticipate nothing dramatic happens with our company haha. We will leverage our newly acquired PR and product validation to secure new business deals and continue to develop new features that improve the overall experience on our platforms.

For AppSumo customers, you keep everything you currently have access to as per the licence purchased - this includes all the features in KYZON Space, KYZON Flow and our Dashboard. And all future features in our Professionals plan for KYZON Space that are sustainable and don't have high running costs will definitely also be available for AppSumo customers. Some examples include features like waiting rooms or integrations with Outlook.

The suggestion of publishing our changelog might be something we look to make available in our community group. That's a great suggestion thank you!

Hope that provided some clarity behind what we are working on in the short term and our approach for the longer term.

Let me know if there's anything else I can help clarify and appreciate your continued interest :)

Thank you for the comprehensive answer ... and even taking up the topic of GDPR again :))
As expected when it comes to GDPR, Google Drive is not really interesting for us, there was another request for pCloud, which we would of course also like, but we also know how complicated the connection is there. We can live with the conservative approach to live annotations and participant reactions

a simple whiteboard earlier would be great, because this was just missing in all the tests - it's not a replacement for miro/mural/conceptboard, rather just a way to present sticky notes on a background and it's quite enough if the host can do this (on call from the group).

The approach of establishing something as an information channel is super good. We work a lot with (paid) WordPress plugins and simply publish a changelog on the website, is enough: version number, add/fix and a short half sentence - if it is important for you, you can ask the support if you can't find it out yourself :))
Will discuss with the team, thanks for the input.

Hey Klest,

Sorry for the delayed response. We've been going back and forth to see if we could be GDPR ready in the short term because we know how important it is for you and other EU companies. Despite trying, the requirements to be properly compliant would just cause a few too many infrastructure changes with our upcoming features and result in an extended delay to our new features.

That being said, data compliance is still important for us and our EU customers so we're planning to be fully GDPR compliant with an EU friendly DPA by the end of the year. We know this timeframe might be a deal breaker for your company so we wanted to get this news to you before our campaign ends so you can make the necessary decisions if we no longer suit for your needs in the short term :)

In the meantime, our services still align with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 with increased privacy controls where only certain members of our team have access to only necessary customer information. We've removed Microsoft Clarity as a partner so we now only log necessary customer data through our cookies. Unfortunately some of our features which rely on cookies are still not GDPR compliant.

Further, all customer data are currently stored in secure AWS servers in Sydney Australia and while the cross border transfer of data is encrypted and secure by AWS, to the best of our knowledge our implementation doesn't completely meet the international data transfer requirements of GDPR.

Hi James,

Thanks again for the very detailed answer and we are currently also testing meetn, but the team and I are convinced to keep trying with you - if it takes a few days and then works well, so what. The idea behind your solution is simply a great benefit for smaller meetings with customers in which you work on specific content together.
