Q: Event sign-up / invite flow on roadmap?

I know you focus more on collaboration, but do you have a plan to add any sort of webinar user sign-up invite flow? We currently do small group collab sessions (15-25 people) on Google. It works great for screen sharing and open convos but it's a horrible sign up experience for this. I've tried a couple of other classic webinar solutions and they're sign up experience is great but the collaborative dynamic is really bad. I end up having to make a makeshift signup flow independently of Google Meets then manually add people. ,

There's really no good middle ground. If you added a nice registration flow, would buy this in a second.

A: Hey chris082,

Thank you for sharing your use case and the struggles you're facing with your current platforms. It really helps contextualise what the new features on KYZON Space could look like!

Unfortunately, at the moment we don't have plans of adding an event sign-up type experience to our platforms. The idea has admittedly been suggested multiple times and we've sat down and tried to make it work.

The main factor is simply how adding an event sign-up would complicate our use cases and split our development roadmap.

From a technical perspective, introducing a pleasant event sign-up experience with payment functionality wouldn't take too long. The problem is that KYZON Space as a platform wasn't designed with webinars and large scale events in mind. We understand you're only looking to host small group collaboration sessions of 15-25 attendees, but if we made event sign-up functionality available, we would inevitably need to support events and webinars for up to 200 attendees (our Tier 5 LTD). Currently for smaller events and webinars, hosts looking for a more collaborative or purely presentation style experience could make do with KYZON Space's current features. But for 200 attendee events, our lack of common webinar features like RMTP, offers/rewards and advanced attendee management would make the experience not ideal.

Because we recognise we're missing some features that would make KYZON Space a great webinar/events platform, we would need to spend a considerable amount of time catching up. Time, we wouldn't be able to spend on further improving the areas that make great meetings, presentations and collaboration. Ultimately we'd end up with a platform that was ok for webinars, great for collaboration but hard for the average user to get around. While that's ok, we'd rather be the platform that's simple enough for meetings yet practical enough to get meaningful work done.

Hope that provides some insight into why we don't currently have plans of adding an event sign-up type experience.

Let me know if there's anything else I can help clarify and appreciate the interest :)

Hi James, Would you be able to add a feature for automatic registration of attendees using their email domains? This functionality would be very helpful for our small company's requirements. Thanks!

Hey esun,

Are you referring to the situation where employees from your company domain @companydomain.com automatically join your team space should they sign up, even without you explicitly inviting them?

Yes. This situation is perfect for routine team meetings as it removes the necessity of handling invitations every time.

Hey esun,

Just so we accurately grasp your use case, are you looking for a way for your internal team to easily hop onto a routine Space meeting without needing to send individual meeting invitations every time?

Yes. Without individual meeting invitations each time, just by using Google login.

Thanks for clarifying esun. This isn't exactly what you requested but for your use case, would simply sharing a Space link with your internal team for your routine team meetings be easier?

Our Space links don't expire so your team could use the same link for all your routine meetings without needing to create a new Space meeting each time.

We also store your Meeting Files in our Space calls so when your team has their next routine meeting, the previous session's documents are available for easy access.

Would this way of working make things easier for your company instead?

1. Indeed, if Space links remain active indefinitely, it's definitely feasible to utilize the same link for all our regular meetings.
2. Nonetheless, what about potential security issues? If someone were to share the link outside our organization, it could jeopardize confidentiality. Google login is one of our essential security protocols.

Hey esun,

Completely understand. Security concerns are top of mind for us as well. We're currently working on a waiting room that only allows participants who have been admitted by the host to join the meeting. This will secure against accidental sharing of links. We'll also look into Google login for the long term but we don't like promising anything until it's decided and placed on our roadmap

Hey James - I certainly understand the concern, but I also think you're overcomplicating the issue. Just a simple registration process would be great, kinda like what Esun is saying. Google Meets has no way of doing this easily and it opens up the use cases while STILL retaining your "collaborative" dynamic. A couple examples that come to mind: Investor calls, complex sales, project planning, etc

Hey chris082,

Completely fair. We'll sit down again and revisit the idea of adding a simple registration before our campaign ends but until we've decided to put it on our roadmap, we're not comfortable making any promises that the feature will eventually be available. We'd rather be open and miss out on a potential sale than our users feeling undervalued down the line :)

We'll let you know :)
