Miss used trust, Violated agreements, Stay Away
Initially, this was going to be a positive review. The Late team was responsive, and as they expanded, new features became available quickly.
My team willingly paid the additional $10/month per feature and began expanding our services. While I didn’t originally plan to pay extra for basic features like analytics, the pricing felt reasonable at the time, so it wasn’t a major concern.
That changed overnight.
I woke up one day to find our additional API features had stopped working. I assumed it was a routine issue—maybe an API update or something minor that could be fixed easily. Instead, I logged in to discover that “Late” had become “Zernio.” Not only was my account not renewed, but the subscription pricing had increased by 1500%. Features that previously cost $10/month were now $150/month. On top of that, all prior frontend/user-facing billing history had been removed, making it extremely difficult to verify past payments.
Naturally, I contacted support, assuming there had been some kind of mistake. And there was—according to their system, I had manually canceled my account. I made it clear that I had not canceled and was ready to reactivate my plan. My invoice showed the plan had ended just three days prior to my outreach. I only noticed the issue because my endpoints were suddenly deactivated—there was no billing failure, no warning, and no cancellation on my end.
Despite this, they refused to resolve the issue.
Users are effectively being forced into drastically higher pricing plans they never agreed to, with no effort to honor previously established terms. It’s both disheartening and deeply concerning.
I’m sharing this so others don’t end up in the same position—after investing months of time, effort, and money—only to be pushed into paying significantly more due to questionable pricing changes, lack of honor, and a lack of accountability.
