LaunchPod AI is a lot of fun to use - but still quirky at the moment. I can live with that. It is clearly a platform in active development and the dev team is listening to user's feedback and implementing changes. I am still testing out the platform and my first impressions are good overall.

I had a small issue cloning my voice (you need to either record your voice on the platform (it's easy) or upload a brief 30 second-ish voice sample). I had to agree to some terms prior to submitting my voice sample and I couldn't find a way to move forward in the process - there was no "I agree" check box option. Ends up it was probably a Chrome extension conflict issue and their support solved this quickly. Onwards!

Next I created a short podcast (with me - yes me!) as the intro host , and I interviewed a guest too. Very slick. It's clear that I need a better recording of myself. The on-board voices are crystal clear, emotive and very realistic. I sounded a bit less clear compared to my "guest" - again this is easily remedied with a better mic. I'm on it. I also let the AI generate the entire podcast contents (my recommendation) - the content was great and enjoyable to listen to. Wowzers! Kinda like AI magic.

Even cooler - I recorded a 3 minute meditation using the audio blog feature and an on platform AI voice that spoke in a calm, soothing tone. Very good overall - nice pauses too - plenty of time to relax and enjoy the soothing ocean waves lol. I did notice some minor reverb on the downloaded recording (maybe they need to adjust the voice stability - I'm not sure). I conveyed this feedback to the team in the Discord group too. Its clear that LaunchPod AI will only get better and the dev team told me they are working on a dedicated meditation option too.

Oh - the actual audio generation time is relatively quick - maybe 5 to 8 minutes and they send you a status email too. And it's a snap to download the finished file. Works great. There is currently no embed option or embeddable audio player that I am aware of - this is badly needed imo.

FYI I had immediate (and very helpful) support chat in the discord group. And heads up - There is a 2000 character limit for copy/ paste content atm too (I think) - I sure hope they change that limit soon.

So final call - yes there are some bugs and the UI is good - not great - but it's absolutely workable. No complaints. This one will only get better and I can see where this might be useful for a narrated online course too. And I'm really looking forward to audio books with the potential for multiple speakers.
