I have been using this for over a year now - a fantastic tool that they keep developing. We use it all the time to make sure we get the meeting recorded, notes made, social media posts produced, podcast notes done...and the latest meeting summary display is excellent - I could not write it better myself and very accurately.

First, the good: It does transcribe well, though it uses Google's transcription, which anyone can do. It censors "language" as a result. But you do get the transcription time you bought, at least if you upload your audio, as I do.

Now the bad: Support is half-baked, at best. They might answer half the question, and they're rude. "Have you logged into Laxis?" Why, yes, that's why I'm asking the question! Some promised features are impossible to find, and may have been folded into services that are now add-ons, which isn't fair (support won't respond, so I couldn't say). Half of my dashboard is now advertising for other paid services. And the templates, which it really wants you to use, don't apply to everyone, so I'm always perplexed at which one to choose, and whether I can get away without choosing one.

It's frustrating for something that should have been so much better. Laxis owes its AppSumo customers answers, and better treatment.

Wouldn't recommend doing business with this company. Deal promised premium plan updates, has instead created a monthly pricing tier for appsumo and locked promised features behind them.

I subscribed to Laxis with the intention of transcribing my recordings. So far, I've not been disappointed.

It's been 6 months since my purchase, and promises of greater processing resources seem to not be fulfilled. I was in a 1-hour meeting today, and Laxis stopped processing after 20 minutes. So I lost 40 minutes of the meeting by trusting Laxis to do its job. This was the only meeting I used Laxis on in 2 months, so it's not a question of running out of minutes.

The summary of the 20 minutes that I did receive was sub-par compared to my colleague's AI summary of the same meeting, from a different service. If I could refund, I would.

I got Laxis mainly because I needed a replacement for Otter.ai I've had an annual subscription with them for years and suddenly they changed their model and slashed the minutes and uploads to the point of uselessness. So Laxis allows me to upload my own files and I'm happy. But I also am beginning to love its meeting summaries and action items. The first time I asked it to summarize a meeting I thought it was terrible, but the last few times I tried it I was amazed. Very pleased with this purchase.

This is turning into a bait and switch, which is the first time I have seen it on AppSumo, basic changes in the product are now only included with an add-on that costs money. We paid money upfront to give you feedback and get incremental improvements in the product.

They just sent an email to all of their appsumo users stating "we just updated our Zoom integration so that Laxis will automatically join your Zoom meeting through your calendar. No more URL copy and paste! This feature is available through the Add-on plan as well." That add-on plan costs $10 a month.

I have no problem with them charging for credits for Audio Transcribing or AI summarizing, cool features that use up AWS processing, or whatever service they are using. Something as table steaks as allowing me to have this auto add to Zoom is not an additional feature that they should be charging for, its an improvement to an already existing feature. New modules I can understand them charging for.

At this rate their going to charge for Single Sign on, or Name identification.

Really Disappointed

The platform is good and the deal was to be taken.

The problem comes now with the author releasing new features that he wants to charge monthly to Sumolings.
It is reasonable to provide the option to purchase more AI credits; it is not reasonable at all to provide features that were labeled as existing (calendar integration) as well in these new Add-ons.

Very poor precedent and we've seen where this ends up.

I've jumped in on this as I can see the promise of the platform.
I understand that some users felt the "Speaker" feature was not great before.

Might I add myself to the "Please can we have the option" list as I would like to have the option of using a "Speaker" feature.

Would there be any plans to automatically tag speakers based on their voice signature like Otter does?

Primarily I use offline as people get freaked out when they see a bot join a call and as it's for my own productivity, offline is the preferred method for me.

Review and follow up email is impressive. AI is going to be the new wheel for humanity. It is just amazing.

pros:
Decent lifetime deal with lots of minutes per month. I just wished it gives up the information on how many days left before it resets.
AI writer and LaxisChat are cool features for meetings.
Upload and transcription completion time is quite smooth. I didn't have to wait long.

cons + feature requests:
The accuracy rate is quite low. I had to edit quite a lot of mistakes.
Please add option to add to dictionary so that I don't need to correct every same mistake. For example, instead of Stoics, the transcription says "stokes." It would be great if it can correct that one time and remember it.
Add 1.5x as playback speed in between 1.2x and 2.0x.
It would also be great if you would add an option to import audio/video from url via dropbox, google drive, etc. That would deserve 5 tacos.

The AI Writer and LaxisChat are amazing!
With Laxis, I can generate customer requirement and follow up email in seconds! Huge time saver! The Zoom integration needs some improvement, but I mostly use Google Meet. The Google Meet extension is so seamless to use.

Laxis has stacked the deck in its offering but the app itself lacks key features.

Spoke integrates directly with Zoom without any additional work and Spoke pulls the speaker's names from the meeting and automatically adds them to the transcription. Laxis does not. Laxis makes you add each meeting manually to Zoom and you have to go through the transcription and change the speaker label - "Unknown" to the actual speakers' name. That last one alone make it too much work.

I've used one other transcribing app a couple of times but with a huge gap in between and I realized how helpful it was.

Laxis is a great alternative.
I used it with Zoom but checked the transcript too early and was baffled by the fact that the speakers weren't named, the conversation wasn't accurate etc.
But THEN I realised that the completed version shows up differently and when I looked at that, it was awesome!
I used it Google Meets later that day and thought it was excellent.
Both conversations are accessible with Laxis, they didn't download anywhere for me to have to locate them.
Loving it so far.
I've not done anything else but install an extension for Google Meets, add the Zoom meeting link to the desktop version of Laxis, have a meeting and then look at the transcription afterwards.
I have yet to explore the many ways that the transcriptions can be tagged, edited etc.

Laxis is a very useful tool.
I've tested the Zoom and sole recording options, and the memo option is really fantastic. I've made my own template, added the keywords, and to my amazement, I didn't need to do anything during the recording - the software picked out all the keywords and organized them by itself. Neat!

There are, however, significant downsides:

1. The Zoom integration is very confusing. I added the app to my Zoom, but there's no option to log into it via Zoom or to connect it somehow to my account, meaning I'm only getting the free features there (30 meetings in total). I either don't know how to use it, or it's a bit pointless :)

2. Transcription accuracy is not that great. What I actually said and what was transcribed are, at times, 2 very different things. But I'm hoping that since this is an AI based tool, that should get better with time.

3. While recording via the microphone option, the recording stopped by itself 2 times. The error message quoted a "connection issue", but this was certainly not the case, as my connection was very stable on the call. As a result, I had to keep an eye on it throughout the whole call to ensure it didn't turn off again (which it did, unfortunately).

Overall, it's a really nice tool. I'm sure there are going to be further improvements and new implementations as time goes on, so I'm keen to see what it becomes in the future!

I've been using Laxis for a while now, and it's become an essential tool for me to make my meetings more productive and organized. The ability to customize memo templates and capture key agenda items before the meeting helps me to stay on track during the discussion.

The integration with Google is seamless (I haven’t tried it on Zoom & other platforms). The AI writer is also a great feature that saves me time in generating follow-up emails and reports.

The support is also great. The team responded to my email in less than one hour and solved my problem

Overall, Laxis has changed the way I conduct my meetings. I no longer have to worry about taking notes, transcribing, or recording the meetings. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to improve their meeting experience. I am saving 10 minutes per meeting & post meeting work.

I recently had the pleasure of using Laxis, the note-taking program on AppSumo, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations in every way possible! I am extremely impressed with this program and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to take their note-taking game to the next level.

Additionally, the integration with Zoom is seamless and allows me to easily take notes during online meetings or webinars. I also appreciate the option to record meetings and webinars within the app, which helps me to stay on track and review important details later.

The customer service team is excellent and very responsive. They provided me with exceptional support and were always willing to assist me with any issues I had.

Overall, I give Laxis a five-star rating without any reservations. It is an excellent note-taking program that has simplified my life and helped me to stay organized. If you're in the market for a reliable and easy-to-use note-taking program, look no further than Laxis.

Its a really good interface and does the job. I like the templates that summarise the audio. However it has a fatal flaw. NO BULK UPLOADS. Normally companies with unlimited usage cap you but not allowing bulk. But as you are already capped in minutes, bulk needs to be mandatory. For instance I have 50 5 minute lessons to transcribe. It's just not viable to upload, wait, upload, wait 50 times. You cant do anything else while waiting as the upload window dominates the screen. So imagine the mental resource it takes to be interrupted every 5 mins to up load the next part. I would have to hire an assistant to upload so it defeats the purpose. As such I will be refunding unless they confirm bulk upload on a live road map.

Laxis shows a lot of promise, but there are some shortcomings that need to be addressed. The Zoom integration is particularly problematic. Having an AI helper join a meeting with someone you don't know can create significant friction. Even after installing the Zoom app, the issue persists as Laxis always requires the meeting link and automatically invites itself. Furthermore, it doesn't work if you use a different email to log in to Laxis and Zoom.

However, the Google Meet integration seems to be working well, although I still need to conduct further testing to confirm. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find any support, which is concerning.

I just wanted to share how much Laxis, the AI assistant for meeting notetaker, has helped me personally. As someone who often finds themselves struggling to keep up with the pace of discussions during meetings, having Laxis take care of note-taking has been a lifesaver. I am now able to engage fully in the conversation without worrying about missing important details or falling behind. The accuracy and speed of the transcriptions are truly impressive (still getting better), and the system's ability to differentiate between different speakers is somewhat not up to par, but I am sure it will get better with time. I would also like to make a note that it is not default configured for TEAMS, so I am looking forward to that. Thank you for creating such a helpful tool at affordable price!
