Nice tool, but have some BIG concerns
Tool seems great overall after testing. I like that I can upload scripts, word files, and adjust slow pitches. However, I've noticed that a couple of voices are clearly from celebrities and well known voice actors. For example, the voice Ava is unmistakably that of actress Scarlett Johansson. This is concerning, as these voices appear to be available on the platform without the necessary licensing or permission. In the past, I worked directly with celebrity agencies and managers, and if they found their clients' voices used on this app without authorization, they would likely take immediate legal action against this tool's owners.
My recommendations for the owners:
1. Immediately remove celebrity voices for which you do not have permission or a license to use, to avoid any potential legal actions in the future. If these voices are used by your users on YouTube or other video assets, and are flagged, your company will face legal repercussions, not the user who utilized the voice.
2. Provide an option for users to create their own voices. This way, you reduce your liability for the voices used and maintain a library of generic voices that do not resemble recognizable celebrities or voice actors.
If the owner of the tool can fix these major concerns ill be happy to adjust to 5 tacos.
Edit reply: Listen to Scarlett's voice from the movie "Her" and compare it to your voice, "Ava." It’s an exact match; anyone trying your app will notice it immediately. Her voice is unmistakable, and any copies would easily be recognized.
Voice actors and celebrities are global and not all from the US. Furthermore, copyright and trademark laws are not limited to the US; they are international. How do you think movies or musicians' songs are protected from copyright/trademark globally? There are international laws in place for this, and it seems your business did not consider this before launching.

Jan 8, 2025Thank you for the nice feedback. Here's our response:
0. Ava voice is NOT sourced from Scarlett Johansson and we have full legal rights. For the celebrity voices, they are explicitly named as that person, we don't do shady renames.
1. We're not a US company and not bound by US laws, such rules don't really apply in our country. However, we're aware of this risk and will definitely consider removing these celebrity voices once replacements are available for our users (community voices and custom voice clone), we don't want to cut anyone off.
2. Yes it's in the plans and being prioritized.
