I almost didn't grab this deal. I mean, really, I'm a professional writer, author, proofreader, and editor of many years. I already own copies of ProWritingAid, Grammarly, and even the Hemingway App's pro version.

So, why would I need yet another proofreading and editing tool?

Well, after skimming the description of Linguix, something kept nagging me in the back of my mind. Maybe it was seeing what AI could do in Frase? The AI aspects of Linguix intrigued me.

So, I added the free Linguix extension to Chrome, and ran side-by-side tests with ProWritingAid (premium edition).

What got my attention was when - in email - I was quoting a recent Chris Gillebeau article, "When something works for a while and then it stops working, that's when it's tough to change."

Well, by mistake, I typed "touch" instead of "tough," and didn't notice it. ProWritingAid didn't catch the error either.

Linguix not only flagged it, but suggested the correct word. All I had to do was click and it fixed my mistake for me. Wow!

So, I snagged this deal right away. (I still love ProWritingAid, but for different kinds of editing.)

I may have to admit that - since then - Linguix has caught me making some spelling mistakes I wasn't even aware of. (Oops!) That's what's interested a few friends that write in English, but it's not their first language: Most editing software can miss words that are spelled correctly but don't _exactly_ fit the context of the sentence.

In addition, Linguix's customer support is astonishing. When I sent them a question, their staff (Danny, in particular) not only replied right away, but took the time to track down exactly what was happening. And then he offered a few ways I could avoid similar issues in the future.

As an editor of many years, I hate to admit that I not only make spelling and grammar mistakes - rarely, mind you - but I also needed software THIS good to catch those mistakes. lol

If I could, I'd give this product all the tacos in the world.
