Linkee could be a great product, but it still has too many issues. Major: Credit Hungry constant credit miscalculation and no auto refunds based on what is actually used.
Linkee could be a great product, but it still has too many issues.
First, when you launch on AppSumo, you have to be very clear on your sales page. It states it only takes 2 credits for prospecting, but there was no distinction between uploaded prospects and prospecting in the Linkee database, which costs 5. I assumed all prospecting would cost 2 credits a piece, which is not a good first impression.
Support is responsive and tries its best to help where there are issues. They issued me a 1000 credit once after I tried to pull 1000 prospects, but only got 909. Other projects are having the same problem: I pull less than what it is supposed to, which wouldn't be a problem if it refunded the credits that weren't used, but the system doesn't do this, even though it is stated it does.
I give four tacos to support since they are trying to help, but continual credit miscalculation has lowered my total taco score from 4 tacos to 2. I have been known to delete reviews and put up 4 to 5 tacos when issues are fixed.
I find myself not trusting the credit system and calculating myself instead of focusing on the data, which isn't great. I can't even hit 10K credits used, since it gets stuck at 9998 credits, some sort of glitch and refunds credits when I do one reveal ahrefs domain rating.
Also, the monthly credits are very underwhelming when you consider the true cost of everything in the software, which can be as high as 10 or 50 credits.
Actual cost of credits and why the current credit system is very low. At 9,000 credits, if you try to pull from their prospect database, it would cost 5 credits not mentioned on the Appsumo landing page, which states 2. So it would cost you 3,460 credits to find 692 prospects and another 8 credits to pull all Ahrefs data for each prospect at 5,536, then add them together, and you get 8,996 credits used out of your monthly limit. You would need another 688 credits to email them all once. This doesn't account for finding more emails or verifying them, which is also expensive at 5 credits per verification. Getting new emails is 10 credits per domain.
In reality, it is very credit-hungry for any task you do, no matter how small, and you will most likely only email 10-20% of the prospects you pull who are super relevant to your business. I would urge the creator to optimize the credits and not make it so credit-hungry, since you have to use credits for everything anyway. Why not allow prospecting to be 2 credits, no matter which version?
Issues
* Credit/campaign mismatch: Created campaign for 100 prospects (5 credits each = 500) but only 84–86 prospects returned; charged for 100. Similar: charged for 1,000 but received 909.
* Inaccurate credit reporting: The dashboard shows 9,998 credits used, while the detailed credit usage history sums to 3,793.
* Pricing inconsistency: The AppSumo page lists 2 credits/prospect, but prospect lookups charge 5 credits (different prospecting campaign types unclear).
* Category filter UI bug: Category dropdown shows only 3 items and won’t scroll; can’t reliably select categories.
Requested fixes
* Reconcile charges and refund incorrect credits. Did a refund of 1000 credits since incorrect credit calculations.
* Correct credit-usage reporting. Linkee continues to incorrectly calculate credit usage.
* Clarify per-campaign pricing and update AppSumo claims. If you say 2 credits per prospect, you should change it to 2 overall, since that is what your AppSumo sales page says, not 5 credits.
* Fix category dropdown scrolling/filtering since not all choices are visible on desktop.
