Q: I noticed a couple of sites with a higher Spam Score than I'd like.

Do you remove websites with a threshold? If so what is it?

Also, do you track a websites spam score in the backlink tracker?

A: Understood what you are trying to say. We keep updating the spam rating periodically though, so we do track it in some way.

Hey, we show as much parameters as possible of a site but we don't remove a site solely based on a high spam rating. The reason being that it is a third party metric, not something that comes from Google. You can see a lot of good quality sites with high spam rating, like fiverr.com ranktracker.com & more.
Now these sites have thousands & millions of monthly visitors, have a very high organic traffic.

Now if someone offers you a dofollow content based backlink from fiverr, would you say NO ?
I or most of the link builders wouldn't say no.

Since it is a subjective assessment on which website one backlink or not because everyone have a set of parameters that they play by or are given to them.

Further, we don't track the website spam score in the backlink tracker as it is a decision making metric before you take a backlink, not later.

Thanks,
Div

I get what you're saying but it is the closest metric to what the hidden Google algorithm is doing. My concern would be, someone signs up and exchanges links with me and then unbeknown to me they buy a bunch of bad backlinks. If it happens a few times, that will affect my site. I really think you should consider adding spam score tracking because it is a well know fact that the quality of your backlinks will affect your ranking.

Comparing a small site on your network to a site like Fiverr is not a fair comparisson. Fiverr has significant trust signals whereas these smaller sites do not.
