Early Stage Software - Deal Terms Too Low
Good concept that shares links for those who use this app. Over time this will be a great way to build links and create great relationships, but at the moment, there are several things that give this a bit of a lower rating than I had hoped.
1. Forced to use Google Account Email. I'm not a huge fan of GMAIL, and certainly, the last two years have taught us all a lesson about privacy laws. The issue is that my DOMAINS use my domain email, not a Google account email.
2. Use of Google Account Email means Google can track what you are doing with link exchanges. This can be tricky ground, best to avoid it by using other emails.
3. Chrome works well with this app, but other browsers have issues. The "ACCEPT" option under LINK VAULT doesn't work in Opera. Having more supported browsers is optimal.
4. LINK VAULT: many many duplicates. Unfortunately, if you accept a duplicate link it consumes 1 credit. I had x3 duplicates.
5. LINK VAULT: my own website is listed twice. And because of the way LINK VAULT works you don't get to see the link exchange website, until after you've accepted it. So, you can consume all 5 credits very easily accepting a link exchange request to your own website.
6. SENT LINK EXCHANGE REQUESTS: the deal on Appsumo has x5 credits. This is way too low for this app to be useful. A link exchange program requires a minimum of 100 requests per month, but really should be in the 500-1000 per month range. (See points 4 and 5 above as to why 100 credits are the bare bones minimum, but really should be much higher).
7. LINK VAULT: the "FILTER" options don't match the details presented in the view. For example, "PIRATED or ADULT" sites should be a filterable option,
8. LINK VAULT: the page is not paginated so you can only see a very short list of opportunities. The only way to expand is to apply some filters to see what comes up.
9. LINK VAULT: there is no way of knowing how many link opportunities exist. Since the page only displays a MAXIMUM of x12 opportunities, I am required to pick one category and then use multiple filters to see if any opportunities exist. Many category/niches in the filter show 0 results.
10. LINK VAULT: After "HIDING" 2 links it breaks. Meaning that you can only hide x2 links, after that the hiding links process stops working.
11. LINK VAULT: There is no "UNHIDE" filter option if you want to show what links you've hidden.
12. Verified Domains, Free Guest Posting Opportunities, Link Monitor Additions, and Link Exchange Post: Appsumo deal = 2. Not enough in my opinion since this application is new to the market and hasn't proven itself quite yet.
Again, good concept when there are many customers that are part of this network, however, requires some changes to be effective for me.

May 9, 2024Hey teamkc,
Apologies for so long delay in responding to your review.
Anything I say in my defence might sound like an excuse, there shouldn't have been so much delay in any case.
I had typed the response but thought I will respond when the issues are resolved but then eventually decided to send it nevertheless since it was getting too late.
A sincere thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to review the product & posting a detailed response.
Folks like you make launching on AppSumo worth it & help us build software.
You even prioritized the listing order of your points by the severity of the issues. Such meticulous details are Incredible.
I will respond point by point.
#1 - We have added login through email functionality, it will be visible to all users in 3 days. We had kept google sign-in only for faster user experience & to prevent spam.
#2 - We don't share any data with google. We just take your name, email address, language preference, and profile picture from your google account. Nothing else! We don't have access to your email. We call google's API only at the time of authentication or validating API request.
#3 - We did rigorous testing with the latest version of Opera & Firefox but couldn't replicate your issue. If you are still facing this issue, can you please share a screen recording on support@linkly.digital
#4 - We won't show duplicates in our ethical conscience. It was due to a bug in the system. Right now, you might still feel that there are duplicates because some sites have both Guest Blog & Link Insertion opportunities and they are shown individually in LINK VAULT. We have noted it down in our roadmap & will take it up as we receive more upvotes on the same
#5 - We have updated the LINK VAULT logic such that you will not see websites connected to your email.
#6 - Since Linkly has opportunities that have already agreed to link exchange with given conditions, the conversion rate is much higher than cold email campaigns. So if we increase the limits to 100 items per month & users don't have the bandwidth to write let's say 20 guest blogs in a month, it might affect the experience for other users.
Having said that, we realize that 5 is too low, thus we have updated the limits to 15 link exchange requests in a month. This will reflect in your Linkly dashboard but will take time to update on the AppSumo page.
Please try it out with the higher limits & let us know.
#7 - The filters are working perfectly fine now, there was a small issue because of which all results didn't show up.
Regarding: "PIRATED or ADULT" sites should be a filterable option - We haven't kept that in filter because we tend to maintain a quality database & mostly don't include Pirated sites. It is more of a trust factor than a metric to filter. Not keeping it in filters helps in keeping things cleaner.
