Great As Article Audio Bookmarking Tool
I recently started using Listnr, and while I realize its #1 stated intended use is for converting your text to audio to create a Podcast easily, I'm using it more as an article bookmarking tool using the Chrome extension.
If I'm doing online research, I'll convert some of the best existing pages to a podcast so that when I'm writing, I'll play the audio version of that page in the background to ensure I don't forget any key points or to remind me why it was great.
There's a "History" button when using the Chrome extension so accessing any of your audio files is a breeze.
I also think it has great possibilities for creating audio content from existing text or blog entries easily. They seem to be adding new voices all the time.
The cadence seems just a little off at times for my own taste, but I speak Kentuckian, so take that with a grain of salt and a margarita or two!
I've found adjusting the script or the punctuation can make a big difference in eliminating any slightly extended pauses. If you have a sentence in their text editor, make sure the sentence doesn't end with only one word on the next line. I don't fully understand why, but it seems to create a bigger pause.
Not a big deal, as I'm sure they'll be working on these things over time, but I would definitely recommend experimenting. Writing for reading and writing for listing can be different, so if you don't need a word-for-word audio version, you might think about editing for just a few minutes in the Listnr editing box to reflect better how you would speak. I think you'll be amazed at the difference.
Overall great possibilities for this tool, and I think there's a lot of different use cases.
