Hey Grant, could you clarify what type of data can be scraped with “Quick” targeting? For instance, with Google Quick scope targets, what do we get, and what’s not part of the data it pulls compared to “Full”?
Just trying to figure out if I would really need proxy for my use case of scraping local businesses listings for a niche online directory.
A: Since we have upgraded the Quick scraper dramatically in the newest versions the main thing that the Full will get over it is the Review Text and Review Score of the 3 featured reviews. Most everything else is in the Quick and since Quick is like 100x faster it is the recommended scraper to use.
Nice! And to confirm, "Quick" doesn't need any proxy to use right? Or perhaps you have a recommended usage limit when scraping w/o proxies.
Q: Proxy recommendation
I want to scrape google maps full +email/social media finder. 1 thread, 8-10 sec wait. I want to have 3-5 copies of localscraper open on my PC, that way I can scrape multiple keywords at once. Q: does each copy of the localscraper program has to have individual proxy? Does it have to go trough IP authentification (IP whitelisting) Most importantly: what type of proxy do you recommend for this specific use-case?
Btw email of yours suport@localscraper.com does not work. "Address not found Your message wasn't delivered to suport@localscraper.com because the address couldn't be found, or is unable to receive mail."
A: For your needs I suggest Google Quick, 6 threads. Multiple copies is fine but if you open too many and your system can't handle it you will see errors and data not saving. If you run into this just close a copy until your system specs can keep up.
Try to use residential or mobile proxies if possible, google is picky and can catch most cheap proxies and vpns. They will show you more captcha...
A: We need to work within the limits of the sites that we scrape. They all require you to be looking for something to show results. If you go to maps.google.com and just put in the street name you will see it won't give you businesses. Since the program only has access to the same site as normal users we need to include a what we are searching for and a where for the sites to give us data.
Q: Are the data from the Yahoo and Google Maps local scrapers legal to use?

A: This really depends. If you mean copyrighted, then factual information cannot be copyrighted. Google doesn't own the address, phone number, and website of a business. You are free to use that anywhere. If you mean the image of the business used for the listing this is usually owned by the person that took it, they give Google the right to use it when they agree to upload it. Same for written...

Aug 20, 2025A: The deal is for 1 year of access to the program not only updates, so you will lose access after 1 year unless you renew.
