Loop Email

Product details

Q: I currently use Missive.

This app looks similar, but seems to be lacking some features offered by Missive, including:

* Unified inbox for email, Facebook Messenger chat, Twitter, WhatsApp, SMS, website chat, etc...
* Read tracking. Receive notifications when a sent email is opened by the recipient and view a log of all opens by different people, locations, etc...
* Availability of a web app, so you can access your email via a browser.

Missive is free for up to two users, so currently, I don't see a reason to switch. However, if these features are on your roadmap, I might consider purchasing for future use. I'm surprised in this day and age, when everything is about streamlining communication and unifying channels that a company would release a dedicated email app. Of course email is still the most important channel, but given the proliferation of channels, it's no longer efficient to manage different channels in different apps.

So my specific questions are:

1. Are you aware of Missive and do you plan to compete with them in terms of the features I mentioned above and any other missing features?

2. Do you have a public roadmap?

3. Does Loop Mail do anything that Missive doesn't do?

A: Hi PrescienMember,

thanks for the great questions. Let me reply them separately

1. Are you aware of Missive and do you plan to compete with them in terms of the features I mentioned above and any other missing features?

Yes and our vision of the product also goes into the direction one where channels get unified, but we currently don't have other channels than email on our short-term roadmap.

2. Do you have a public roadmap? Currently, we only have an internal one, sorry about that.

3. Does Loop Mail do anything that Missive doesn't do? From a quick glance of their website, I would say:
- we offer a complete email client replacement, with your folders and inbox synced on your personal account
- we allow email sharing - where you can have side chat discussions on a particular email without the original recipients seeing the backdoor conversation. It's great to streamline an email conversation to people in BCC (no need to forward them, once the email is shared, all replies to the email thread get seen automatically).
- you can form team chat channels, just like on Slack

Hope this helps?

All the best,
Jerry

HI I'M also using Missive and see Loop email as a competitor or a replacement.

Some things I suggest you add in :

Snooze - possibility to snooze a conversation for another day
Integration of Twilio for SMS from the team

Hi Jerry,

Thanks for the reply. Missive is actually a full email client that's more than capable of replacing Gmail, Outlook, etc... It also supports private commenting by team members.

I'd really encourage you guys to publish a public roadmap and provide us with realistic estimates of when the missing features will be implemented. Lots of AppSumo users are willing to invest in deals for future use if the roadmap is tempting enough. For example, if you could commit to adding these features within six months, I'd probably buy the deal. Unfortunately, your vague and non-committal response does not inspire much confidence in this regard.

Thank you PrescienTrader for the on-point response. The public roadmap has come up a lot in these questions - I've just raised this with our management team and will get back to you with their feedback or even a rough draft of the public roadmap. Really appreciate the suggestion, thanks.

I am in agreement with PrescienTrader, Missive already covers all my needs.

However, if you were to have facebook messenger (for business pages) & Whatsapp on the roadmap and included for appsumo users I would go all in.

Thanks obrineh,

we will definitely include that sometime in the future, as our longterm vision of the product is to bring all customer facing communication channels into one app, but we currently don't have that on the short term roadmap.

All the best,
Jerry
