Holy Cow...this is really clever
Firstly, just yesterday as I was taking stock of my financials on the 1st of the month I thought to myself - hmm this month I probably won't have to get many Appsumo deals. I feel like I have covered them all from LMS, courses, design, video, AI tools, financial, CRM, Marketing, Support & web dev. If its another tool that I am going to get it is probably a rehash of one of my existing toolsets!!
Blimey, I was wrong. Here comes a tool that is unlike anything I have in my tool set. I am not sure why this is compared with Loom? I use Loom and loom doesn't do what LoudDoc does (unless I am unaware of hidden features)
So why am I raving so much about this? Well, because it is so clever, simple and ituitive!
I was convinced to try this based on the following question in the comments section regarding live examples and one of the examples was this - https://tutorials.ebmcresources.com/teachingguide
Coincidentally, I just got Uteach yesterday and this example fits in very well with what I want to do with some online courses. So bought the deal, sign up was simple and didn't see any onboarding. But I guess that is because it is that simple. Uploaded my first document, a pdf and it took about 12 seconds to convert it into a simplebooklet format. Then you are presented with a bunch of option which include chnaging the theme, page flip options, background etc.
Then I clicked on the Narration button and that is when a text onboarding tips popped up. Went ahead and recorded my voice and video narration, on multiple pages. I also saw an insert message feature and was curious was it did. It asked me to put down an email on which I wanted messages to be sent. Proceeded on to the next step and then shared the file as a link to myself. Sharing options are pretty advanced via embed, ldynamic email, public/private link, password protected, notifications on views etc
Then I viewed the shared link on another browser and it worked great. Remember the Message feature I talked about? Well think of that as G-doc comments but in the form of a basic chatbot that takes down the users email and message and then shares it with you. This is great!
Now onto some areas for imporvement:
- 99% of the file converted smoothly in 12 seconds but in one slide there was an overlap of one line with the another and no edit options for me to do anything about it. The file I uploaded is originally a google slide document but downloaded as a PDF attachment
- The countdown timer on the video seems to skip a few secons...that is it finishes counting down to 60 fairly quickly
- In some places the count down timer started from 1 minute 30 seconds. I thought the limit per page is one minute? (btw one minute is plenty)
- Currently there are ~25 templates, hope to see more in the coming months
- The welcome email I recieved said - Your new free account on LoudDoc - this left me a tad confused but on the platform it states the correct plan
Then....
