A few weeks ago, we ran internal stress tests to understand usage better, which led to the short-lived video limit experiment some of you saw in an email. It was never a strategy. We reversed it the moment we realized it didn’t reflect how you actually work.

What we learned was simple: trust matters more than any internal cost model. And any future changes have to respect how you create, not how spreadsheets think you should.

So why relaunch now? Because for the first time, three things are completely aligned:

1. We deeply understand how different user groups stretch Qolaba.

2. We’ve strengthened our backend to support the real-world demand you generate.

3. We’ve built a sustainable model that supports LTD users long-term, without compromise.

We’re now shaping our roadmap around how Qolaba is used in actual daily workflows — creating, training, documenting, workflows, and more.

Qolaba was never meant to be “just another AI tool.” It’s meant to be a dependable workspace, something that sits naturally inside your creative and professional routines.

Aakash and Samarth here — two of the Co-founders at Qolaba. First off, thank you for your patience, constant feedback, and support while we’ve been working hard behind the scenes. We wanted to share a few important updates about Veo 3, our video generation models, and what’s coming next.

Veo 3 Fast Returns — September 8th

We’re excited to announce that Veo 3 Fast will be back online in the coming week, Between 8th - 12th September. This is our most-used video model, powering nearly 80% of all generations. That’s why we’ve prioritized optimizing and stabilizing it first to ensure a smooth and reliable experience.

Why the Pricing Change?

To maintain stability and make Qolaba sustainable for the long run, we’re introducing a new pricing structure for Veo 3 Fast:

250 credits per 8-second video generation.

Context:

• Video generation is still in beta, and usage from the AppSumo launch caused a 10x spike in demand.
• This led to high-usage warnings from Google and faster-than-expected consumption of our Google Startup credits.
• The Google Startup Grant program has been renewed, allowing us to continue subsidizing costs — but pricing now better reflects real usage and infrastructure demands.

Our Priorities Going Forward

• Veo 3 Fast first → Optimized for speed, stability, and quality.
• Veo 2 & Veo 3 (standard) → We’ll revisit these later based on demand and feedback.
• Other video models like Runway, Luma Labs, and Kling remain fully available and unaffected.

Building for Sustainability

Qolaba is built for the long run. Recently we’ve:

• Renewed our Google partnership
• Joined Nvidia Inception to unlock performance and cost benefits
• Brought on new developers to improve stability and fix bugs
• Partnered with Egomonk (a fellow AppSumo user!) to improve education, updates, and launches
