The UI/UX is flawed and ugly, but that's not really my concern. In fact, the problem is really no fault of the developer either-- AI written content just sucks.

TL;DR:
- Most of the time, no script was generated—processes failed frequently, and internal errors occurred.
- Customer support is non-existent; tickets remained unanswered for over two weeks, even after reminders.
- The UX/UI design has significant flaws that impact usability.

Maekersuite focuses on the pre-production process for YouTube videos. After reading several reviews and watching tutorials, I was intrigued by the idea of having a comprehensive research companion. However, when I opened the app, the UI looked different from what was shown in the tutorials. I later discovered that the founder had stated they spent 2024 improving the existing design instead of developing new features. While I generally support prioritizing better UX over adding features to an already mature tool, my experience with Maekersuite did not reflect this philosophy.

The app guides you through the process using menu points, with each step having a separate view. While this structure seems logical at first glance, my main issue was that the platform rarely succeeded in generating an outline or script (the final step in the process). I encountered multiple internal errors (as mentioned in other negative reviews), and in some cases, I was left with an empty text area without any explanation. When I tried to troubleshoot by going back to the previous step and regenerating, I still couldn’t resolve the issue. The project overview displayed a red dot indicating processing failure, but there were no clear instructions on how to fix it.

I submitted a support ticket but never received a reply—not even after sending a reminder ten days later. With the refund window limited to 30 days, I decided to request a refund as the platform simply wasn’t functioning properly for me (though this might be specific to my account). Unfortunately, the lack of customer support made it impossible to resolve these issues.

Usability Issues

During my troubleshooting, I also noticed significant flaws in the app's design and functionality:

- Inconsistent Data Handling:
For example, I researched a topic via a keyword and found a video in the results list. However, when I opened the details, Maekersuite claimed there was no transcript available for that video. Out of curiosity, I checked YouTube directly and found that a transcript did exist. When I then searched for the video using its URL (a different research type), Maekersuite displayed the transcript in this menu. Thinking it might now be cached, I returned to the original keyword search menu but still found no transcript for the same video—even after waiting a day. This inconsistency in how data is handled across different research types was frustrating and confusing.

- UX/UI Design Flaws:
The font size for main results is set to just 12px—barely readable—and for the first time ever, I had to use my browser’s zoom function at 125%. The page layout also wastes a lot of space: oversized headers, filter fields, and table headers take up about one-third of the screen height. Additionally, each line in result lists has excessive padding above and below, making it difficult to view more than ~10 results per screen. For someone researching large volumes of data, this design hampers productivity significantly.

Scrolling within the app is equally problematic. Some sections allow normal scrolling (pass-through sections), while others use scroll-jacking techniques where scrolling triggers animations or actions within that section. This inconsistency disrupts navigation and forces me as a user to hunt for narrow scrollbars just to bypass these sections.

Conclusion

When I consider that this UX/UI design is the result of an entire year of 'development,' during which no new features were added, I can’t help but question the future of this tool. While Maekersuite may have potential, its current state—with experienced inconsistenties, poor usability, and inadequate support—makes it difficult to recommend. Ultimately, I chose to refund.

They have gone out of business! Software not working anymore. Message system keeps saying be back next week. Not responding to email of messages

I bought two tier of this product. And i have to say: I'm kinda blown away. I've been playing with it. Then moved on. Then I got an email from them saying 'did you try Maekersuite's AI-powered Script Writer yet?' Nope. So, I did. And WOW. Just, WOW. I mean: it. Was. GREAT. So, jump in people. If you need scripts and videos, don't miss this one. Its superb.

Best tool and i love it

Maekersuite is one of my most valuable tools (I have a lot and this one is solid). For the past year I use it in several stages of workflows: fast research, content planning,
writing and editing. Every stage of my content creation process has been enhanced by the video insights and engagement data. I already full stacked to Tier 3 when it first came out. My only issue is I'm usinally tight on time and want to use the tool to analyze more at 1 sitting. I hope they can add a bulk upload option or a queue to avoid the limit of watching 3 analytics runs at a time complete. an automation would be great to upload several things and let it run and I can come back to the results later. Other than that, it is a gem..

The key that makes this work is analyzing performance data so I'm not guessing what is type of video content my audience actually engages with. Curating GOOD content is much faster and easier with Maekersuite.

This is a good supplementary tool for video market research and helps steer my decisions when creating new YouTube content. For a YouTube content creator, it is an easy recommendation. The interface is clean, intuitive and easy to use on both desktop and mobile.

I've seen many youtube gurus talking about how important it is to find the outliers ( A video that suddenly goes viral or gains traction, performing much better than the creator’s other videos.) and that's just one of the things it does.
After it finds them for you, it will help you create an outline and script, or, if you choose, it will just do it all for you, and you can tweak it later if you want. It's also breaks down other channel video transscripts and tells you what their outline is. it identifies the hooks and other script related aspects.
This makes it easy to copy the rhythm of outlier videos, even if the video topic is totally differnt from what yours is.

I have English and Japanese channels so i was worried about it working with the japanese content, but it has been doing extremely well!
I guess i shouldnt be surprised since it uses some of the best ai models out there.
Any channel owner should AT LEAST buy tier 1. You wont regret it!

Maekersuite is nothing short of amazing, and way ahead of its time. There is no easier or better way to script a video with the most optimized content for its topic. I use it to create a robust starting point and script, then I tweak and edit a little to make it more consistent with my channel and "voice." The analysis tools are nothing short of a juggernaut. Don't think about this, just buy in!

Fellows! If I had the money, I would buy a subscription as a gift for each and every one of you :) Better yet, I would invest and buy shares in the company. If you are a creator, a learner, an educator, a researcher or just a curious soul who watches videos to know stuff, you MUST get MaekerSuite ("MS"). The little investment in any Tier you will make will pay you within the first week or within a few months, depending on at what $ rate you value your time per hour!

We know YouTube has a treasure trove of useful information but we also know it has even more of the poor content. MS will help you sift through the sea of videos to get you the right ones. You can then use these for pre-production inspiration, research, learning or whatever you do with your ideal videos.

The Exploration feature is unlike I have seen anywhere else, how comprehensive results it provides and the visual formats in which we can view that information. It also generates ideas for you to make videos on or write blog posts on based on the exploration results. Very useful!

The guided script feature is also very helpful. It can generate descriptions, titles and hashtags for you. You can regenerate as many times as you want, using any model available including GPT4o, Clause 3.5 and even GPT 4 Turbo (which is awesome for writing and more expensive than GPT4o, not even available in GPT Plus subscription, only through OpenAI's API. Kudos to MS team for making it available). Unlimited word generation with any model! What more do you want?

Video analysis feature- an absolute winner. So many useful insights. Sometimes, the watch intensity feature doesn't work so the team should look at that. And when every other tool (including some big name chrome extensions) are struggling to bring transcripts from YouTube due to recent changes by YouTube, MS still works like a charm!

There are so many fantastic features on the roadmap.

Now about the team- I have heard Philip on webinars and he is very passionate about this project. He has gone all in into this project and I am very hopeful that he will make a big success of it. Julia from the support team is very responsive, helpful and very active on Discord. These are signs that MS team is serious.

To conclude, I absolutely love MS, the amount of time it saves me and not just time, some of the insights it pulls would not be possible otherwise. So my fellow Sumo-lings, do yourself a favour, invest in MaekerSuite and then explore the full feature set it has to offer. You can always refund if it is not for you. But if it is, send good vibes toward me...and of course to MS team.

So far, I have only used part of the "search for a subject" function of this tool. This feature is a treasure trove of information: it shows the most viewed videos, their quality and volume, and the channels covering the topic. I can also see detailed video descriptions, highlighting key sequences and interesting passages. By clicking on a topic, I get detailed video information, trends, and niche insights, with over thirty video suggestions provided. I'm also exploring the Advanced feature for comprehensive video analysis, which gives an overview of suggested videos, relevant topics, channels, and total views. This feature alone is worth 5 tacos.

YouTube is massive and filled with distractions (shorts, advertisements etcetera). This tool is extremely helpful in navigating YouTube and making it provide concise and meaningful video content. Through this tool I've been able to learn new topics and connect with real professionals, coaches and mentors in niche spaces.

I've been able to also create meaningful content on my YouTube page and have launched 3 additional niche channels with lots of ideas to publish.

As a content creator, I decided to purchase this app because it streamlines my content research on YouTube, saving me valuable time. It also assists me in crafting great scripts for my short branding videos. I'm currently giving it a rating of 3.5, as there is still plenty of room for improvement. Nonetheless, I genuinely enjoy using it and would recommend it to others. I opted for the tier 1 plan, which allows for the generation of only 15 scripts per month—a bit limited, but it meets my needs for the time being. I actually wanted to create review or walkthrough video regarding this app but perhaps later. :)

A lot of improvements are still maybe on the way, but at present also, it is full of useful features.
I think before using youtube, this app is going to be my first preference for exploration about what to watch and where to invest my time learning.
Apart from topic exploration, i was amazed to see transcripts of the videos being explored that is ready to copy in one click. Superb.
Add one more otion to summarize that transcript with the help of at least Chatgpt 3.5, it will be worth in gold for me at least, or those who falls in user category like me.
There will be too many suggestions from my end down the line after regular usage of the platform, but really loved it.

The concept as a product is good, but the platform is not high that quality at this point. Navigation around the software is difficult; and the writing is very slow. Getting from an outline to an actual script is a bit of ad hoc. I managed to do it once, but that was it. In other words, the software has potential but far from delivering much. I should have done my homework better before hitting the 'buy' button and will thus ask for a refund

I could write a small book about this app, but I will simply say it is a package with extraordinary capabilities (including AI features) that allow you to analyze the entire world of YouTube videos (and other info sources) for content and ideas, organize and outline scripts for videos and blogposts, write or help you write your content, and many other things - and do it all in a beautiful UI that is simple and coherently organized. Beyond that, they update the app constantly, improving it almost every couple of weeks. Even better, their team is obsessive about user input and customer contact. I consider this one of the best purchases (Tier 2) that I have ever made, even if it was only used for research alone. And it gets better by the month. I don’t generally write many reviews, but Phillip and the team have developed a truly prodigious achievement in app design with limitless utility and upside potential once you learn the ropes.🌟👏👍
