A Human Review
I have been using MB for a couple of months now and am still blown away at the potential of the app. Of course you must keep in mind that it is a beta product and constantly under development.
Is it perfect? No it is far from perfect. However, it does provide a massive amount of AI text from your input. You can input a simple title or upload an audio file for the full BM treatment. You can also build a chapter at a time.
Almost all AI writing tools still require editing for facts and readability, and the Bookifier is no different. BM does a great job at providing close to final draft quality, but sometimes tends to repeat things or provide too much summary type information. Some topics it can nail in a single try, and others not so much. But more model training and writing improvements are certain.
My workflow includes passing the output through GPT 4 with a list of my keywords and my preferred writing persona. Generally it can complete all editing and voice related tasks in a single pass. It can achieve the same results with GPT 3.5 but the character limits can get in the way. I also sometimes like to push the output through Claude, but that method will usually result in a lot of summarization, which is not the direction most book writers are trying to go. There are many ways to improve and edit the outputs, so I will not list all of the ways that I play with it.
Overall, I love the tool and look forward to the day when it can take huge inputs and spit out "real" books.
Anyone who expects perfection @$29 per code could be delusional.
Personally I am quite happy with the tool and the progress so far. I hope to see the day when MB can create a true ebook that will require minimum editing as well as a path for creating full fledged novels and series. We are not yet there, but it is acheivable with this tool and their team.
