Mail Merge Toolkit for Outlook

Product details

Q: I read through the previous Q&A and I have a few follow-ups questions: 1.

The way your offer is structured is not life-time in the real world use. Most people have Office 360, and Outlook can be outdated in the background, potentially rendering this product obsoleteat any time after a year. But I also understand your point that the product should work with outdated version. Except chances are, you only find out it's not working when you are trying to use it. And if/when it does not work, it causes real world issue and uncertainty in which most business people would wish to avoid. Thus, I am suggesting you tweaking your offer and make the uncertainty goes away. Instead of offering a surreal LTD, limit it three years and offer a continual support package. For example, keep the current price, promise to keep the product working for 3 years, and then charge a reasonable fee for yearly upgrade. That takes out the uncertainty and make your product more conforming to real world use.

2. Would you consider a multi-license package? Similar to one person here who has 3 desktops and 2 laptops, I have about the equal number of computers. Chances are, more than one of them are open at the same time. And I really hate to shutdown the app manually. Can you offer a 2 or better yet 3 simultaneous usage license arrangement?

Thanks

A: Hello Topdog168,

Thank you for the feedback, we really appreciate it!

Let's provide some explanations regarding your points.

1. Overview the licensing facts once more. The AppSumo offer provides a life-time license for the app, and it also requires yearly renewals for version updates and maintenance (but it's not obligatory). Moreover, if the renewal has been skipped and expired after some years of usage, and the updated app is required immediately, it can re-purchased with special ('existed user') pricing. We've faced with such cases from time to time and there were not any serious troubles or worries from the customers side.
Now we can calculate the cost of license ownership for both cases - AppSummo offer and the standard licensing. Let's do it for 3 years.
The standard licensing is $24 one time license fee + $36 ($12 renewal fee per year x 3 years) = $60
AppSumo offer: $9.99 one-time licensing fee + $14.97 ($4.99 per year x 3 years) = $24.96
As you can see we have 58% saving as a result; and we believe there is really not bad.
Finally, two words about 'uncertainty'. Could you please clarify the difference when user founds suddenly that he cannot get the newest version (cause renewals have been skipped) after 1 year of usage or 3 years of usage? I can repeat that we offer special conditions to obtain the last version anyway for such users.

2. One single user license covers 2 devices for the same user (for example work PC + home laptop), so extra devices require additional licensing. We also offer multi-user license packages for the app, you can check it on the app's homepage, but unfortunately it cannot be offered as a part of the current AppSumo offer. Anyway, requirements like yours, being exclusions, can be discussed directly with us and we can offer the best possible option.

Thank you for understanding and you are always welcome back with any further questions!
