Its ok... Good in some places... ok in
Mailbird was of interest to me because as an MS Office user I was looking for a replacement due to the whole Office does not play nice when you have an exchange/Hotmail account alongside a Gmail/Google Workspace account. The only workaround is to add it as an IMAP but the calendar doesn't work so it's quite annoying. Along comes Mailbird and right out of the box I can add everything Hotmail/Google Workspace and it works and the calendar as well.
The integrations are a nice touch, as a person who uses Google Keep, having it on hand is just useful. WhatsApp notifies you of new messages while Google Chat beeps but does not tell you how many messages are needing to be read. Also, the integration are lumped together, you cant reorder them or hide some. For example, I added Grammarly but I don't need a Grammarly icon as it works when you compose an email. If I remove Grammarly it stops working - go figure. Also everything is in the Mailbirl window, you cant pop-out Whatsapp for example and you have to click on the integration icons to active them every time you reboot instead of autoloading.
The UI is OK but if you use Office then you will miss the flexibility to customise it how you feel.
In short, there is a lot of potential but it feels clunky in some ways, a lot of great integration but can feel a little lumped together that doesn't feel practical.
