Promising, but Not Ready for Serious Email Marketers Yet
I had high hopes for Mailead, but after testing it for several weeks, I found several key issues that make it difficult to recommend at this stage.
The Downsides:
- Buggy Experience: There are several bugs that impact usability.
- Missing Variable Replacement: If an email variable is empty, there's no fallback, which can lead to awkward campaign outputs.
- Slow Interface: Clicking between emails takes 1 second to load, which feels sluggish compared to competitors. This should be instant for a seamless workflow.
- Cant delete emails in bulk.
- The support is ok, but a bit slow.
Potential & Comparison:
The concept behind Mailead is solid, and with improvements, it could become a strong tool in the future. However, at the moment, it’s not suitable for serious email marketers who need a reliable and efficient platform.
I’ve also used Reachinbox for multiple campaigns, and it performs much better. It’s faster, feels more like a complete product, and provides a smoother experience overall.
If the Mailead team can address these issues within the next year, it has potential and I am happy to try it again.
