AnthoNQ: So if I add a subdomain.
domain.com the email will be [email protected]? I cannot use [email protected]? I would need to setup the main domain lvl to have emails send [email protected]?
Also, what are MX records for? I don't see any place where I can read received emails? So maybe setting these records are pointless.
And if I do use the main domain, then I have MX setup for a email receiver like google workspace or zoho, so I would keep those, then...

You can ignore the warning shown on our add domain page, and add your root domain anyway. Moreover, you just need to create the DKIM and (or merge) SPF record - other records are not compulsory.
