Firstly, I'll address the issue that is being spoken about, backups. Backups are a dime a dozen. They are probably the more expensive of the service offering for MalCare, but the cheaper for one of us to get for our site. And who uses a hosting provider that doesn't have a good backup option? As well, plenty of adequate plugins for it. Getting lifetime backups are great, but that isn't the core service provided by MalCare (or the reason anyone would purchase MalCare).
However, good WP Security add-ons are neither cheap nor are they easy to come by. I just pulled a malware off of a client's' account who is using a $50 / month security package, and that package completely failed at catching it. Obviously, that package sucked. For the record: I had completely different recommendations, but they ignored my advice and just wanted that $50 / month package.
That being said: I'm very very excited about a security solution that doesn't bog down my server. Some of the security plugins mentioned below can be horrendous when high traffic hits. As well, the login protection balances power and convenience. I think it needs some more features, but they stated they're open to that in the roadmap, so I hope to see some things such as reCAPTCHA come out.
Furthermore, they have great support and support as part of a LTD package is a win. Support is expensive. As well, he hardening features are good and helpful. There's a lot of small tweaks that can be done here and there to hard Wordpress, and I hope to see more of those come out.
