I've used a lot of on-page SEO optimization tools. But as someone who cares about writing and editing, I must say that the keyword-like advice that most on-page optimization tools provide is pretty finicky ... from the writer/editor's perspective it's kind of a pain to optimize on such a granular level, especially if you care about using words to actually convey meaning (not just rank).

I've been using MarketMuse for a week and I'm really impressed. Natural Language Processing (NLP) is baked into the product from the ground up, rather than as an add-on. It's a mature product that's only now being opened up to a non-enterprise client base, which put it within my price range.

And I've run the tool through some topics I know well as an expert and ... the results are bang on. The subtopics really are *subtopics* of the main topic, not just a collection of frequently occurring words. Their educational content is top-notch, and explains how to use the product for lots of different use cases.

Very excited to be using this as one of my main content strategy planning tools. It's true that you don't get the whole enterprise-level solution with this deal (which analyzes your site and it's topics), but I'm usually working on content strategy for smaller sites, so to me that wasn't much of a loss - I've always done that part manually.
