Brilliant Tool!
Brandy solved a problem that I didn’t really know I had. I kept losing my assets and was always digging into HTML to recall what hex codes I’d used in design as well as fonts etc.
This product has saved me so much time. I’m also able to use it as an asset delivery tool for clients; so their files are easily available.
Support is great - Adam gets back to you pretty quickly if you have any issues, and they take feedback on board.
Grab this product while it’s available, I’d definitely recommend it.
A couple of changes i’d like to see at some point:
- password protected folders/categories within public projects.
- custom page if a brand is protected as the logo and branding etc switches back to brandy, it loses all customisation. perhaps having a login page instead of the generic brandy page?
- password protecting assets without the need to sign up for a whole brandy account?
- rearranging colours within SVG assets. currently if you realised you missed a combination you have to delete the ones up to that point to add it in and then re-add all the colour combinations, which takes time.
- custom asset export sizes - this can be done to a point; but if you upload a rectangular SVG asset you can’t export it as a square one i.e if you upload 500x250px you can’t export as 500x500px with the extra space transparent or white, it only scales in the original size. If I upload an SVG logo I may want them to be able to download a square image file that they can use for other things like social media etc.
- ability to disable downloading original assets from the download drop-down (i.e. svgs - I customise them and then offer different coloured combinations which they can download from “download as”). The original SVG isn’t what they’d want to use (different coloured layers to make my pre-set colour customisation easy).
- better handling of customisation - it briefly flashes the brandly logo before loading up the custom logo that was uploaded (like FOUC)
