It really does mask/blur the data you want to protect
It does what it promises to do.
I bought the DataMask, installed it on my browser, tried it and I am happy with the results.
The data I wanted to mask/blur remained blurred even when I refreshed the page.

After reload by mistake blurs goes away. Wished it stayed and cleared by a button instead.
I will reconsider my review once get a solution on it.

May 9, 2024DataMask has nothing to do with crypto currencies and is safe to use. MetaMask does not like that extension names are similar.
Only manual mode Blur, Blur+ and Edit are persistent between page reloads. If you found a website where persistence is not working please report it at support@datamask.tech and I will look into it.

Promising
Looks good.
When I blur or edit something, it stays after refresh
But when I remove a div, it comes back after reloading. I'd like to remove a lot of div on Gmail to declutter the interface and that looked like a good way to do it.. Could you fix this ? Thank you
also, I try clicking on a div that was far on the right and because of this, I couldn't see Datamask menu or interact with it, even tho the div was selected.

May 9, 2024Thanks for detailed feedback. Currently persistence is only supported with blur, blur+, scramble and edit actions. I will be looking into making element removal work across different websites as well, so keep an eye on product updates on DataMask twitter feed.

worth the extra money
I was on the fence about this one as there is currently another "blur" app on AppSumo and I wasn't sure this one was worth the extra money. Because of this, I ended up getting both.
DataMask is slick. It has a nice interface and it does what it says. It also gives you lots of options for securing your data.
1. You can manually edit text, before blurring.
2. You can completely remove screen elements.
3. You can use the Blur+ option, which scrambles the words/image and then blurs everything in a single step.
Everything you do on a screen "sticks" until you remove it, so if you're doing a live presentation where you need to show up-to-the-minute (but blurred) sites, you can pull them up with confidence.
In addition, there is a nice image editor included, which you'll have access to once you do a screenshot and will let you put pixels over certain parts of the screen or black it out completely.
I also like the up-front way Tomas has answered questions. It's nice to see developers who don't back down from "hard' questions or get agitated/defensive about them.
I'm keeping this one.
