Not a Template Builder
A template is something you can use over and over again. When you build on this drag and drop HTML editor, what you do is construct the email in an easy way. But when imported to any newsletter system it can be used only once (except MailChimp) because in order to change the content of the blocks you have to do it within the code. So if I build a beautiful email for a customer, they will be able to use it once and pay me every time they want to send an email.
Things I like:
-easy to use
-good variety
-many block options
-pretty content
Things I don't like:
- You can't preview the templates. You have to go to the website, and from there you can view the demos.
- When you select a template (these are templates, because you can use them over and over again), the blocks are not loaded on the builder. You have to load them one by one, and it's difficult to do that since you can only see a small image on the left to choose what you want. I suggest to make the templates load fully built as in the "showroom" and then we can take away or rearrange as needed.
- It will work as a "template" in MailChimp but I don't believe it will on any other system. That's only if you have a Standard or Premium account (or grandfathered free account like I do). On Moosend for example, won't work because you can only edit the content within the code and since you have to select a structure first. It loads horrible there (without space). The only place where I could actually edit the content was on any newsletter system where you have a full HTML editor like Inbox or your own Outlook or Thunderbird.
Things I'd like to have:
-Branding options to customize faster.
-Some kind of information profiles (links, social media, etc).
Conclusion:
If this is something for your own personal use, and you believe you can be going back and forth on every campaign it's ok. Or if you are implementing some automation emails campaign that are not going to change regularly. For that, it's great. If is to have a template for your regular email campaigns where content changes every time, or to sell email templates, this is not an option but it's a good start to design your own or get some ideas and inspiration.
