I’ve used many of these types of services in the past. Some are too complex, while some are a little shallow and not worth the monthly cost that they charge.
This, besides being a good deal, is better suited for those who have no intention to spend more time than they have to putting together a beautiful email/html page.
I did experience some minor bugs. When applying my global fonts, they did not get changed on most modules (at least on the preview). When I went to the individual modules, the font would be listed correctly. I had to click the font drop down and select the same font in order for it to actually show. This is not to say that it wouldn’t have changed the code, but the visual is there for a reason.
What I feel makes this outstanding, is the fact that the export can ACTUALLY push your design to a number of integrations. Not to mention, you still have the handy dandy html code to rely on if all else fails or your flavor of service isn’t listed. In fact, with the html, the limits for its usefulness are removed. You can put good, solid code anywhere you need it to go.
What this didn’t have is a way to directly edit the html code within the program, which I both miss and appreciate that it’s gone. Typically, these types of services, will allow meddling with the code, but can’t self-correct if the bad code is entered. In fact, it gets really haywire when your modules lose their tags and it’s the wild wild west. This is not the case with Module Composer. We are stripped of the ability to meddle and if you get to the point where stuff isn’t going right, you have the clear option up top to reset canvas
There was not much of an onboarding process, but given how intuitive and uncluttered the UX was, there was really no need at all.
