Q: How much RAM will this eat on my pc?
I have 16GB and let's say I'm working on video editing (so much ram is taken), will this slow my work?
Macgill_Rize
May 14, 2024A: Rize shouldn't use much RAM. The only time Rize does use CPU and RAM is when rendering the dashboard which you can close out of the preserve RAM/CPU while you're not looking at it. However, we have a 14-day free trial so I'd definitely encourage you to try out the product and see if you have any issues! I can provide a few more tips to save CPU/RAM if you ended up needed that too.
Thanks. Also wanted to ask - how is this compared to RescueTime?
At its core, Rize works similarly to most time trackers (e.g. RescueTime) in that in automatically tracks and categorizes the time you spend on different apps and websites. However, while products like RescueTime are primarily passive time trackers, Rize dives deeper into analyzing your productivity and enables you to build better work habits.
Our timeline view depicts how your day unfolded and the exact time spans of the day you were focused, in meetings, taking breaks. You can drill down into specific blocks of focus time to see how much you were context switching and which apps or websites were most distracting. Our Session Timer always you to start Focus Sessions with music that helps you focus or start Breaks with guided meditation. Rize will also help you build better work habits by notifying you when to take a break and when you’ve reached a certain number of hours worked.
Those are biggest differences at a high level but there are a few smaller ones too. Rize provides an improved dashboard over other products like RescueTime as well as more granular categorization rules and customization.
Let me know if there's anything I can expand on or clarify.
Thanks again. Last question (but the most important one):
Do you have any plans to incorporate AI into the product - so it could "study" my general behavior and give me personalized tips on how could I be more productive based on my past data, recent activity and according to the goals I've set, My general agenda, etc? (and I'm sure this could go to many other directions as well)
Love this question! It's super inline with how we plan on developing Rize. We actually already integrate AI into Rize. Currently, we have a custom machine learning algorithm we use to rate the quality of your Focus Sessions. It takes over 20 different aspects of how you work to provide you a quality score. This is just the beginning of how we plan on integrating more AI & machine learning into Rize.
Amazing, thank you!
For sure! Let me know if you have any questions or if there's anything I can help with.
