I purchased and installed this on October 21st, 2021. Seven months to the day. Look at how many deals I have in my account (currently 452). I've been a Sumoling since 2011, and this is the only one I've called perfect.

It's not magic. I don't expect the impossible, but if you spend time categorizing the apps and URLs you work on, this app can give you insane details about how you spend your time.

You can use it to see what you were doing second by second. That time you spent in Photoshop? Well, you can see the file names and actions. Phpstorm? You can see the project there. You might not get that level of detail with every single app, but you can get a lot more detail than I would expect. You could, with some effort, get a down-to-the-minute view of how much time you spend on each task and project.

Don't even get me started on tracking with websites. You can have multiple levels of categorization. I can track time spent on Linode as "Server Administration" and be done with it. Or I can find the ID in the URL for my client's server and categorize that as "Client Name - Server Administration" instead. Do this for all the sites and services you use, and you'll have a ridiculously good picture of your day.

The context switching and focus tracking are also fantastic. You can see when you're able to get those focused sessions in. I noticed that my focus sessions almost always start around 11 AM. I have a hard time focusing in the morning. That means that I should probably ignore the advice of many productivity books that say to do your focus work first thing in the morning (Jocko Willink, I am not). For me, it's better to do email and meetings in the morning and keep my afternoons free for focus work (read When by Dan Pink).

The best part is you don't have to configure things before. You can track everything and review it all at the end of the week. Then go in, update how things are categorized, wait a few minutes, and your reports are updated and better going forward.
